A demo of what can be done with the Kemper Player and a aptly equipped midi controller.
Using NRPN and SYSEX midi (if you dont know what they are then this video might not be for you!)
PS- i offer no tec-support and you wont find these devices anywhere. However, all the information required can be found in the Kemper midi documentation.
A side note- the appearance of the blue-tinted buttons is a side-effect of the video camera. In reality, these buttons are not illuminated

I would like to know how to set up a midi cc to boost 3db. I can't set it up like you please tell me how thank you.

Nice video! I was dreaming about simply connecting the Arduino Micro (which as I understand can do MIDI via USB) directly to the USB-A port, which then powers the Arduino and receives MIDI control changes. However, I can not get it to work. I guess the Player requires one of those MIDI to USB dongles? Sorry if this was obvious, I am new to MIDI 🙂

i tried the arduino-to-kemper-via-usb method too but also didnt get it working. Apparently you need to reflash the arduino to make it a class-compliant midi device in order for the kemper to recognise it as such. I have not done this myself and use a usb-to-midi adapter

Might be a strange question, but: the soft buttons for "Bank", Slot 1-5 and FX1 and FX2 are shining blue when they are inactive, right? Only the activated/selected Slot soft-button is shining white? How did you set it up? Mine are just off, not shining when they are inactive. Nobody understood what I was talking about so far. Also Kemper Support could not help out with my question. I am slowly getting pretty desperated 😂

The blue-tint on the buttons was a side-effect of the camera being used. They are in fact all OFF except the currently selected slot.

@@SLATEB0Y No Problem at all. There are many pictures pretending the lights would be blue. I am happy you are answering and explaining. No one knew what i meant so far 😁
great demo and explanation Slateboy, thanks for taking the time ! Can I ask, where did you find the midi information to modify the rig volume? I recently acquired the Kemper player but the manual only shows a few basic midi parameters / CC numbers! Thanks in advance my friend and keep up the good work :D

you will find it in the kemper midi documentation available from their website. Its quite comprehensive
