    Pay should be linked to making money. The WNBA has never even made a single dollar in profit. Yet they out here asking for a raise. It's like working for a company that's about to go bankrupt and demanding a raise.

    That’s exactly how the nba works. They are phenomenal athletes that are impressive and fun to watch the better the players and team the more people watch and support them the more money that generated the more money they make… who TF is watching the wnba? There’s a reason they don’t get paid as much. The fact is they shouldn’t be getting paid at all. Is basic business. Pay shouldn’t be based off revenue it should be based off profit margin. You wouldn’t start a company and after paying overhead realize you have no money to pay your employees because they aren’t making you any money and then give them all huge salaries. It’s ridiculous. The wnba loses nearly 10 million a year after paying expenses until they can generate enough money to turn an actual profit they should keep their mouths shut and hit the gym and courts.

    Shot at Barkley starts at (29:15) ......................... Wilt Chamberlain only made 100k in 1966 (NBA Founded 1946) and Kelsey Plum is making a whopping 180k in 2022 (WNBA founded 1996). The consumers DO NOT want the WNBA product right now, and it's the players jobs to grow the game, not complain every second of every day that they don't make enough money. Also, if WOMEN don't start supporting the game like the Men do it will continue to lose money every year, it has nothing to do with streaming, gen z knows how to find the WNBA.

  • @RickBobby

    @RickBobby

    Жыл бұрын

    Right, In 1966 WILT CHAMBERLAIN ONLY made 1 Million dollars, playing 82 games, averaging 35pts & 25rb. The avg NBA salary was 35k and the NBA revenue adjusted was around 925 MILLION. Guess what the WNBA revenue is? It's around 56 million, and that means they LOSE around 10 million a year. The women will need to start turning a profit if they expect to make NBA money. What the WNBA needs to do is tell its players to stop complaining all the time, be grateful the league is still operating, and try to build the game so future generations can possibly cash in.

    I would not be surprised! The numbers prove it. In 25 years the WNBA has not made a 25 cent profit, because they have to pay for playing in the Men’s stadium and all the expenses that go with that. All the money they get is a piggy back off the NBA from TV contracts to putting wnba players in commercials with NBA , to the subsidy of 10 million that they receive every year. If men really were going to these games, they wouldn’t need all the support financially because the box office would cover it.
