Slater. To take the wrong wave. Lose his board. Have to take the ski all the way around. Grab new board. Paddle out with 30 seconds. Drop in and weave the barrel and get spat out as the buzzer sounds. Incredible.

I must add, some great videography exhibited over this & other events; from land, sea & air (done). Impressive! Conflated clips are a masterful achievement, especially for the spectator. The unsung heroes are some of your videographers! Both Kelly & Ethan, coruscating & impressive performance!

There’s been at least a few 10’s in this event. The judges basically expect you to drop a floater or air reverse on the dry reef closeout on a bomb set after riding over five foam balls and coming out after three spits to get a 10 out of them these days.

Well I guess it’s a matter of opinion. Do you want to see someone stalling and then getting a huge pit or do you want to see someone racing chandeliers from behind the section. Kelly had perfect 10 form and made it look so good, but ethan was dealing with more critical sections. Definitely feels like ether one was over scored or the other underscored to me.

Ethan’s tube was longer and bigger way better then slaters ; bit ripped I recon
