@@Smackblood As an artist, yes. As a vocalist, very underrated. Many know her sweet voice as a quiet singer/songwriter, few comment on how wonderful her technique is, her range and versatility. Many don't even know she can belt with the best of them and sing up high in the 6th.

Agreed, she’s been underrated as someone who can belt a note since she hit the scene. She’s always been more celebrated as a songwriter more than a vocalist. I’ve ALWAYS held her in very high regard but I enjoy singers who sound like nobody else. She’s one of those talented women that simply cannot be replicated.

Kelly comes from the country/folk female singer tradition of being able to share the performance with other singers. Think Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt, all powerful singers yet able to support each other. And beyond country/folk, there are the incredible duets Carol Burnett sang with some of the world's best, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Julie Andrews, Cass Elliott being only some of them. If you can find them, they are incredible to watch. So many of the younger people never knew that Burnett was a trained singer.

That's the hallmark of a great singer. Someone who knows how to harmonize and adapt to their singing partners. There are many good singers in the world but not many will know how to harmonize when they are doing a duet or singing in a group. It's actually harder than it looks.

3:19 as a singer myself, I keep replaying because it's unbelievable the power in Jewels voice after all these years. I loved the song 25 years ago as a teenager and I love it even more 25 years later. Music really is a time machine and this song took me back.

However, I'd like to argue that Jewel could not sing a Kelly Clarkson song. I think it's the fact "Foolish Games" is so suitable for Jewel, it cannot be matched, and vice versa for Kelly Clarkson. In short, nobody can sing Foolish Games the way Jewel can. It's so suitable for her voice and so uniquely beautiful. That's merely my opinion however, not saying I'm right nor wrong, just disagreeing that Kelly held back. She could never deliver the song how Jewel can.

@@davemac8617 exactly. As I said before. Both have unique singing styles and tones. And just because kelly holds back and refrains doesn't mean she can't. Kelly has a true 4 octave range and 3\16 semi including bars and inhale exhale whistle. . Jewel is 1 octave 9\16 semis. They call her 2 but it's 1 and a bit more. And both make amazing use of their range. Hell the eagles lead singer was 1 octave and listen to the hits he put out. Jewel is actually a story teller and not a singer per say. But I wouldn't compare their music because both artists can make you feel their pain or happiness.

Jewel has had to sing this song so many times, she has perfected it like nobody else can.

27 years after its release, here I am still listening to this amazing song! The FEELS!!! totally nostalgic isn't it? Wish time travel is possible!

@@bubgum00 these kids don't know jewell man, sadly they watched probably because they saw Kelly's name popped up. Kelly won a singing contest 15 years ago and jewell is a actual musician. That's the difference

Jewel's voice is so crystalline! It's like silky silver metallic crystal if there is such, so unique! And also, when Kelly dropped the second verse, it turned Foolish Games into My December vibes!

Jewel’s voice always give me shivers. So beautiful and magical.

Holy crap. Ima need to watch that again. That was some power. Stunning. First saw Jewel in 1995 at a festival and she still stands out the most of anyone I saw that day. Don't want to believe that was 25 years ago.

Jewels album was the album of my adolescence. Kelly you are an amazing artist, a true artist knows control, you gave Jewel the limelight she deserves, your harmony was perfection, you lifted when you needed to always complimenting Jewel and the finally highlighted your humility. Perfect. Jewel 🙏🏻

The world is so blessed to know Kelly. One of the most genuine celebrities out there. Amazing vocals and even more amazing soul. Keep it up Kelly , you are loved.

Jewel's vocal skill and abilities are extremely high. She is up with the elite pop vocalists. Make no mistake about it.

Omg. Just when I thought my favorite duet ladies were Reba and Kelly. Jewel and Kelly set a new bar. Loved it ladies.

Nothing surprises me on the capabilities of kelly anymore.. Just makes me happier.

Such a beautiful duet, Kelly held back perfectly allowing Jewel to tell her story!

How are you doing today Shannon Sheed? It’s really nice having you on here. I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many levels. Trust, communication, loving, honoring, understanding, patience and respecting your partner. So crucial to provide balance. This is what creates such great chemistry between two people that are committed to one another.

I know I am two years late to watch this video, but I IMMEDIATELY got chills when Jewel started singing. She is timeless.

Just listened to the greatest hits album and was surprised by this collaboration.. Love it
