YES. You hit right on the main element of what separates Kelly and Carrie's versions. Carrie sounds great, and she sings it with a lot of strength/power, but it's almost like the technical accuracy takes away from the emotion. Kelly manages to pull out the power AND the soul. It's so good.

Kelly just gets better and better. Her choices are more thoughtful and her soul gets heavier with experience. It's beautiful to watch her grow as an artist and vocalist.

I love that you not only notice the timeless vocals of Kelly, but you notice and appreciate the musicians behind her, as a fellow musician....thank you! What I would have given to see that live!

Kelly does not get the props she deserves as one of the best female vocalist.

So glad you reacted to this. This has got to be in my top 5 for favorite covers. She just took a song that had very very strong vocals by carrie underwood changed the tenpo to suit her made the song her own and killed it.

I would like to recommend you a young and talented China Singer. Hua Chenyu is one of the current top Chinese Singer in China Mainland. He is basically a Rock Singer but able to manage many different styles of songs. He participated in many singing programme and achieved fantastic results. Singer 2018 has allowed him to showcase his capabilities because he has to compete with many other artists. He has proven his creativity and abilities in rearranging and composing of songs. The wonderful part of him is he sing very well too. I hope you will not miss this wonderful artist. Please do reaction videos on “Ordinaryl Path” in Singer 2018. This song is just beautiful.

Wow that's really one of my favorite! "Ordinary Path" was rearranged by Hua Chenyu in SINGER 2018. It's such a beautiful and emotional performence which was highly acclaimed and got lots of hits in KZread.😄

Me too! Her pregnancies were really hard on her voice😢 Seems like she lost her mix and started pulling too much chest in her belts. I don't like how hoarse, throaty and unstable her belts sound now....

Yeah as Lucia mentioned, she got clearer up there again. She rarely goes up to G#5 anymore, but her F5 and F#5 are usually clean nowadays. Her cover of "Must Have Been Love" and her live performance of her Christmas song with Ariana Grande are good examples. To be honest, her voice is more balanced now. Her tone got richer throughout and even though she might've lost a note or two at the top, she really seems to have mastered her instrument lately. Her placement is great, her head voice is as good as ever and her musicality is at its best.
