Yes, constant creativity. I'd like to see an exhibition of his work.
this work is amazing! Dear Ted thank you for making me discover it and for all your great work!
Wonderful photographer and wonderful person. I had the honor to take a weekend class with him at the New England School of Photography in Boston many years ago. I had the least experience of all the attendees and yet he made me feel like an equal.

That's really cool Cheryl! I'd love to meet Keith one day!
I ve just watched a video where Carter said that the focus in the picture with the boys was a mistake. Love your series on photographers. Thanks
Thank you Mr Forbes for another excellent video! Keith Carter is one of my favourites too and certainly one that influences my photography a lot. Thank you for sharing!
Keith Carter is my favorite... Thank you for an interesting presentation!
Awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing, Ted.
Many thanks once again Ted! A very interesting look at an extraordinary photographer. He seems to have used the medium to help him cope with some of the worst experiences a person can go through which is very moving.
Very professional and thorough video as always. Keep it up
This is going to be a very subjective opinion. I do like expressing it though, mainly due to the semi anonymity of the internet. 'To get to the point.' I wish you were my lecturer or mentor. I think you've a great wealth of information and I adore watching your vlogs. I do want to say that I prefer your earlier episodes. I don't particularly enjoy the addition to music. Your voice is really great on its own! Also, I may be wrong but you seem to be going further and further from the camera making it more like you're here for us, in a distance, rather than us being there with you. Not sure if it makes much sense here :) Please keep going. I'm a fan :)
Wonderful! I love Keith carter too
Awesome! Thank you.
His studio work is reminiscent (though not quite as dark) as the grotesque/medical photographic work of Joel-Peter Witkin. Among other similarities (such as use of animal bones, somewhat theatrical studio set-ups, etc.) both have tendencies to manipulate their negatives to produce their eerily beautiful results. If you were ever so inclined to make an episode and/or general commentary on the work of Witkin, I would be very interested to hear your take.
amazing.
I'm speaking of the technique used in the dark room. Depending on how harsh the shadow is it can be diffused or no light on the area. There are enlargers that diffuse light and enlargers that have direct light.
Suggest the "blur" you mention on the photogram might be a shadow, shadows tend to appear softer. Movement tends to be more solid on photograms but you could be correct. I love playing in the darkroom, shooting 4x5s for the first time, coming out pretty well.
Love the photographers you choose to showcase ... have you done Robert Demachy?
Blur is caused by light diffusion, not shadow.
