I love to audition new R7. In the background at 0:46, I see speakers with red unique drivers, silver baffles, and wood/dark finishes. I cannot find it on your website. Which speaker is it?

I love the look of the new range but have one issue, for those of us who want to use these speakers for home cinema gloss finishes are a terrible idea due to reflections from the gloss when watching a film in the dark. I'd love the option to have some matte finishes as well

How do these compare to the non meta versions? Will they have a different sound, or do they maintain the same sound, and soundstage?

I auditioned a pair of the Meta 3 and having the R3 they have a different sound signature. Not as bright or forward. But non-the-less still very exciting. What I liked was less fatiguing to the ear. The Mid base drive is new. NOTE you will need an AMP for these. They did below 3ohm. I was running a Rega Aethos and it was killing it but that is a 5k amp. I ordered the blue :)

why do the new r meta have way less bass and now are 4ohms instead of 8?

  • @Prometheus1979

Beautiful speaker’s, I love them, price’s are good, but there’s no way I’m spending over 2 grand for speakers with a 87 to 89 sensitivity. It’s going to take a massive amount of power to run them and open them up to get them to shine. At those prices they should have been 90 to 95. Anything dipping below 89 is going to be hard to drive.

LOL. All speakers are 87 today. New models have even lower sensivity. Check JBL HDI1600, Polk R200.

@@lawpenner First, you take all to literally. Second. It is not measured. It is just manufacturer claim. KEF 87 is measured number. For example, Klipsch declare 91dB. But measurements show 87

@@streamcnoremorse3323 so you're saying that the new Martin Logan XT B100 bookshelf speakers with listed sensitivity of 93 dB will actually have an 87 dB measured sensitivity?

@@lawpenner without real tested data - absolutely yes. Klipsch declares 91-93dB for bookshelf. And what? Real measurements show 87. Also Martin Logan is a drop of water in the ocean. Focal and Dali have high sensitivity. But it is nothing. I have no problems with 87 sensitivity. Today is not 80th where common sensitivity was 90 and higher.
