    Thanks to their Uni Q drivers, they seem to be pretty insensitive to off-axis placement, so I do not expect the sound quality to suffer from placing them horizontally. Not sure, though, if the internal electronics are up for it and you might wanna check that first with KEF CS.

    Does the playback have some delay or latency? I would like to use them for listening, but also for DJing, therefore any delay or processing would be really annoying (if not familiar to DJing, imagine playing an instrument with delay on your return/booth sound)

  • @YuriBrus

    @YuriBrus

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Frederico. I have not noticed any delay over HDMI. But I suppose, for your purpose, you would use the analog input and I am pretty sure that the incoming analog signal undergoes digital processing and this will probably cause some delay issues. You would probably be better off with regular powered monitors or if you have your mind set on the LS50, then maybe the passives with a good amp. Best regards, Yuri

    @@YuriBrus Thanks for you quick reply! I have the ls50w in mind for two main reasons: 1. Being able to provide high quality sound for music listening and for djing practice at home 2. Practicality for moving to some friends house for small parties However, price is a bit high for my budget. I'm also considering some studio monitors, like KRK rokit, yamaha hs, or pioneer dj, monitors. Do you have any idea of how those compare to LS50 on sound quality? I know the standard answer would be "go to a store and listen for yourself", unfortunately, there are no stores with those kind of setups for audition nearby. I would appreciate any suggestion, here.

    @@fredericokrumenauer4669The LS50 Wireless II might sound better, but for your intended purpose I would pick proper studio monitors. Out of the ones you mentioned, the Yamaha HS would be my choice, especially the HS7. If you can stretch your budget even further and you want something more audiophile, the Dynaudio BM5 MKIII are often available at a big discount, since it's an older model, but still one of the best studio monitors within its price range. It also has both unbalanced RCA and Balanced XLR inputs, giving you lot's of connectivity options. But the Yamaha HS are most certainly very capable as well, they also have very high customer satisfaction ratings.

  • @YuriBrus

    Hello Alex, thank you for your question. I am currently looking at subwoofers for this system and narrowed my choice down to either the REL T5i or REL Tzero (rel.net/rel-acoustics-t-5i-tzero-comparison/). The KEFs are in my office space, so the Tzero would actually suffice. However, if I ever want to move this setup to my living room, the T5i is probably the better choice. Unfortunately, due to the COVID situation, here in Europe, both have long delivery times, so I'll have to do without a subwoofer for now. Which isn't all bad, because on its own, it is already a very capable system. Best regards, Yuri.

    @@YuriBrus thanks Yuri, Rel is American no? Because the prices are pretty steep in my country (I live in France ), the model you kindly linked retail for nearly 800 euros.. I plan to put a subwoofer in my living room who is approximately 20m2 I'm not looking for the raw power but convenience especially for the room placement (I'm not living alone 😅) I heard good things about the Bower & Wilkins line (I think the ASW610 who is a 10inch with room correction is their cheapest) but I'm also looking at some Yamaha or SVS who are easier to find here. I really don't know what to pick I have pretty bad experience with "cheap" 2.1 system (bass very hard to tune in the room, trying to overtake the speakers and directional). Some years ago I bought the biggest subwoofer 500$ could buy (a 400w Jamo 12inch) the result was really terrible haha and that thing was enormous so I returned it the next day. That's why I'm looking for more mainstream brands in Europe than Rel so if it's really not working with the Kef ls50 wireless I can still return it in the worst case scenario. Amicaly Alex

    @@alexvikendi1768 Yeah, I understand what you mean. Any of those brands offer great subs as well. In my experience, 8-10 inch works best for music. Any bigger than that usually gets too slow.
