He really nailed it with his attitude twords fixing stuff for cheap or free... The exchanges between the two of you were hilarious! A good sense of humor is such a gift. I love these old timey mobile homes. Hopefully, a greedy developer doesn't come along and offer the owner a good price for the park property. Hopefully, there are protections in place for tenants through the local government.. I had a friend who passed away in 2004, and he lived in a park like this and his site location had a huge yard with a lovely garden. If I was younger, I would have looked into finding a place like this. I'm a senior now and live in a rent controlled apartment in a city. i don't have a car and have doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and major grocery stores, all within a short distance from my apartment am grateful for my blessings.

I really like James. He reminds me a lot of my dad, only a little more rough around the edges. Personality and artistic abilities, so much like my dad. Even straight down to the addiction. But still a really good guy. This one totally hit home for me and I'm glad he's doing so much better for himself! Side note:: I'm also a firm believer of not living beyond your means, like you said in the video. I love our double wide and the $800 mortgage. There really isn't rent cheaper than that. Brand new patio homes around the corner from us, 1 bedrooms going for $1500/month and you can probably literally pass the salt and pepper through the windows to your neighbors at dinner time. Lol

A 2023 manufactured home can cost 100k or more. But an old 1-2 BR one from the 70s you can buy for 3000 or less if it is still in good shape.Or like my man said 1500 or less. My Dad lived over that way at Casa del Sol on 67th Ave and Peoria behind McDonalds and its a nice place been there like 40 years and is kept up nice. At least it was until he moved in 2006. My man watching GRIT on tv I love those old Westerns. Hope he try to cut back on the eating this year. He must also be a very good cook BUT that weight around the middle is dangerous for your health and heart. He obviously wants to keep living.

Just found your channel today, actually like 4 hours ago, subscribed rang the bell and been binge watching ever since. The scorpions 🦂 in your house made me glad I never decided to retire to Arizona.. lol I live in Ogden, Utah and I like the change of seasons, must admit the cold is a little depressing right now. I am on SS and live in a HUD apartment. My rent is $417 a month and I earn $1,534 on Social Security. Everything has tripled in rent in Utah over the last 7 years. Apartments are going up on every corner because of people flooding away from California. I have a one bedroom that was recently remodeled, they remodeled our entire high rise complex. Of course my rent went up. When I first moved here 2 years ago I had 0 income and I only had to pay $20 a month until I started my Social Security at 60. I felt so blessed because there are so many homeless here in Ogden now. Nothing like what you see in California with the tents but it’s getting bad. It’s hard to find a Section 8 apartment here with the rent increase, a friend of mine can’t find anything decent at the HUD rate. A studio that’s decent here starts around $1,200. 8 years ago I rented a brand new 2 bedroom for $675 a month! Not anymore.. love your channel ❤❤

I’ve owned 3 mobile homes & parks and lived in 4 mobile homes in Northern California, and at one time they were the way to go if you were a single income instead of apartment living but the space rent kept going up starting in the 2000s, just before I moved to Arizona in 2018 it was up to $800 a month.

I live in the Bay Area and my moms space rent is 1090 now. But I know other people that live in other parks in the same city that pay anywhere between 1100-1500 a month just for space. There’s people that live in low income housing (projects) that live in new buildings that pay a lot less and live better. Living in Mobile homes is a rip off now, used to be affordable.

@@User-ef8vk ugg, I lived in my dads Mobile home in Mountain View in the late 1970s 80s it was about $350then, yes they used to be a more affordable place to live back then, if you couldn’t afford a home. It’s the space rent that gets you, but if you owned the space or land you could do it…….but you would have to live in the rural areas to do that.

When I was young I ended up in a old mobile home. After removing strips and wallpapering and painting. Replacing a tub, I learned I wasn't so dumb. Sold the mobile home for a lot more than we bought it for. It is all about time and effort. Your life is what you make it. He is making his life as he goes. Prays God. This is what life is about. This is the American Dream. To have a home, that you helped make happen.
