Hey David, I restarted my Mac and then verified + controlled the disc. It didn't give me a lot more free space, but note the I regularly do a complete shut down, plus I'm taking care of my Mac, but it did give me like 1 GB more space - at the least. Also you're doing a great job!

Cheers guys, I could'nt understand how i was using my hard drives capacity when i had transfered a lot of my pictures, video's etc on to a jump drive. well i have followed your instructions and i went from 8gb left out of 125gb to 10gb, then i carried on following your instructions, i then got it up to 14 gb. I then did a OS X restore and i haven't a clue why but i knew something was amiss and i now have over 61gb spare. rock on and thank you very much. Gary

Hello Mr. Cox, sir,. Greatly enjoying your classes - so professional! Now my particular problem, my iMac is 6 years old running Mojave 10.14.6 and I am increasingly getting the 'spinning ball of death' with programmes loading far too slowly. So I have tried to check the hard drive following your steps in this video. The 'far left' HD icon is labelled 'APPLE HDD ST1000...' and not 'Mackintosh HDD", and clicking on 'First Aid' I get the option to 'Run' rather than 'verify disc'. Anyway, it appears to check the disc in about half a second and comes up with 'OK' - however after 6 years I might have expected at least some things which needed attention as you suggest. Have I done something wrong ? Should I increase the internal RAM (currently 2 x 4Gb) to help the problem? Your comments would be much appreciated if possible - thanks

Amazing video, I am a little bit lost about HD failure in my IMAC. I have run Verify Disk While I was logged in and I got this message : "This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility." I did that and seems there isn't any issue on my HD, there's no repair to be made....So, Should I dismiss any error message obtained when we are logged in while I was logged in? (sorry for my basic skills in english) best

I just use a G-Drive and put anything that isn't a necessary application onto it. (Like media files and documents.) I also use a lot of cloud storage, so that limits my exposure to drive failures. My Macbook has an SSD, so I'm sure it will run well until it just flat-out dies. :( I have had a small Intel SSD die on me, so i know it's possible. I prefer the old mechanical drives still. There's a little more of a wait, but I've had some last more than a decade without failure.

Hello. Long time viewer first time commenting. I have a Common problem i think, my Macbook pro late 2011 internal speakers are not working anymore. I search google about this problem and tryed everything there is. Non off them worked. they work when i start the computer but after that nothing. In the system pref, there is no option to choose sound source as internal speaker. Do you have a solution to this problem? BR -karri-

i had bad speakers muffled sound and it turned out to need cleaning cat hair all over the interior and sand from Sunny Florida! Helped significantly and now I do that myself when it sounds to need it.
