Loved this video. Thank you for highlighting that any option regarding indoors/outdoors is perfectly fine depending on your cat, your home and the outside environment. I have read conflicting things about what roads are most dangerous for cats. I wondered if you'd heard the Bristol Cats Study found that cats living in rural areas were 2.66 times more likely to have an RTA than those living in more urban locations. Maybe due to infrequency of traffic and when traffic does come along its moving a lot faster? Its interesting that many rescues wont considers homes on busy roads but busy roads might actually deter cats from crossing? Nevertheless I wish rescues were a bit more open minded and understood that having a happy cat goes beyond opening the door. Thanks for a great video 👍🐈‍⬛

Thanks for your kindness, thats so lovely to hear! Oh yes now you mention it, I remember reading this too! Yes I had the same thoughts as you, cats being caught unaware / less street savvy, plus reckless driving. But I would love to see more studies to see if that’s a consistent finding. I also agree with you about rescues. There are so many looking for homes and I feel many would be suited to an indoor lifestyle, especially older cats that want a slower pace of life. x

Yes this is important for sure you need to know about ur cat loads. I will get a cat but I’m adopting so this cat that I’m adopting is a kitten and lives in a hutch outside. But personally, I don’t want to keep my kitten outside because the kitten could get eaten by a fox right? Also like you said about if you have a cat that’s calm or not calm. The kitten that I’m adopting is ver calm but when they grow into a cat can they change into an active cat? I agree with you it’s much easier to take care of a cat that’s quite active outside! And yes that can be up to the cat if the environment is loud then keep inside.

Oh yes don’t keep your cat outside, you want them to be part of your family 🥰 Also make sure your kitten is well socialised and used to a life around humans. The first 18 months or so should be when they are most active / playful and then their behaviour should settle. But if they are calm as a kitten, that is probably a good indicator of their personality as an adult too, as long as they are healthy kittens of course x
