Big thanks to Ty Smith for collaborating with me on this project! P.S. - There is a herping adventure we did that I'm producing! Also, I'm working on getting some closed captioning on this video. Cheers!

I just found your channel and have been catching up :) Great information :) thanks for sharing! TY should make a channel himself he’s very well spoke and it would be neat to see his setups and caring guides for the different species in more detail :)

Thanks Pamela. Yeah, Ty does plan on starting a channel at some point. He would be a great educational source on this platform for the reptiles. I'll be sure to let my subscribers know when/if he does release his channel. Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply. Typically it's never a good idea to reintroduce a domesticated species back into the wild. It's adapted to a whole new way of life. Sometimes pet stores or other pet collectors will be willing to take your pet.

Regarding the Eastern River Cooter, is it okay to keep one as a pet if I am able to buy it a 50 Or 60 gallon tank / kiddie pool? I have one right now that I found but it’s still small.

Hey Marlee, sorry I missed your comment. I've submitted the question to Ty because he is the real turtle-keeper expert. If I get a reply I'll let ya know.

It is good to step them up as they grow. So, if it is still half-dollar sized, I would recommend a 20g long, and once it is the size of a baseball, then a 60g will be good for a while. But, bare in mind one day, if it is a female, it may grow to have a 14 inch shell. When that happens, you will probably need 120+g.
