Armada: one of the best albums ever written in the genre. After Thebon (vocalist) left it hasn’t been the same, sadly

Spoke to Thebon when he played with Hellish Outcast in the local metalpub some 10 years ago. He said he left for Africa on a 3 month trip, and I think he said the band believed he had left for good and kinda ditched him. The band sadly ain’t the same as it was with him in it..

Seems like a nice guy. But i think he really downplayed how good the early black metals were.

Even the mighty Darkthrone gets a lot of hate for doing their town thing at least for anything after Panzerfaust.

I think Darkthrone did a lot of good albums after PF, but past 16+ years I haven't really liked any of the albums. And DT is the only band in the world with two 10/10 BM albums.

Behind different doors - it has been stated a deep regret about entering the Euro thing. I was mad at the time, could not believe that a band would sink to that hellish shit show. When was it - back in 2010 or something? Now, I do not care. What is the point about getting older, if wisdom to not enter? Think Keep of K is often forgotten. Not among my favorites, but that is purely down to the style. I did not embrace Borknagar and their change either - but now I love them. Enslaved is up and down - but a bit of too much prog. We all have our taste, and growth. If anybody had thrown modern DarkThrone at me 10 years ago, I would puked. Now? It is a great journey, because I skipped a whole lot of music because it got stuck in mostly Norwegian black metal. Back to Keep of Kalessin: "I Choose To Suffer" is among my all time favorite songs! "Through Times of War" is for me, still good. Others will choose and pick their albums or songs. To the point: People who do enjoy metal, and not mainly focused on black metal? Keep of Kalessin should/could be included.

Agree with you a lot, but I actually discovered KoK after the Euro shows. Got my ears open for them. I choose to suffer is also my favourite from their old stuff. Cheers!

This dude did a whole xmass festival with xhristian songs.(while I support the musick of K.O.K.) his opinion on bm means nothing and should mean nothing to any b.m. fan (Fuck the word Epic) on a side note lol
