I work with real estate agents and lemme tell you, the crap that some let their clients pull is beyond me. They should not legally be able to threaten breaking the contract over your requesting 5 days of rent past the agreed time. If they couldn't move out in 60 days, that's not your problem; that was the signed agreement and they did not fulfill their end. Sellers Market doesn't mean they can act like squatters with god complexes. Golly, I'm sorry they did that to you but I'm glad it's done and you're settling in to your absolutely gorgeous new home!

Just some friendly advice from someone who has worked with lots of professional designers in my biz. The biggest mistake made by those without professional help is scale. Go for BIGGER (rugs, art, etc.) esp considering the scale of your home. The trouble with the Home Goods of the world is that they tend to sell smaller things... then you just end up with a lot of small stuff that clutters. Think fewer and bigger things. (The oval mirror in the LR is too small for that wall and Meredith's pink rug could be a lot bigger. I do love the big wall hanging in the media room - maybe frame it?) Congrats, Kim!!!

Ive lived in my house for 5 years and many bare walls because they are big walls! I did find a couple large canvas prints at kirklands a couple years ago but need more big things that don't cost hundreds!

This! Your sectional outside is perfect for that size patio. Think in those terms for the inside, too, and you'll nail it. After buying the first few BIG pieces, it will get easier. ~ Lisa

I've come back to revisit your packing and moving videos a whole 2.5 years later. Oh my goodness, it is so exciting to look back and see the massive changes in your life! The pantry that was SO big is now filled to capacity. Meredith is finally in her forever room with the extension finished, and you have your office!!!! It is absolutely awesome seeing how well you have fit into your home and made it yours over the past few years. So so so many changes - 5 kids, a TEENAGER, new furniture, new rooms, chickens, so so many decorating choices, new big traditions (Eggstravaganza, Summer Party etc) and lots of the same ones that will last forever. Your family is awesome and I am so grateful to you for sharing your lives with us for all these years.

So I’m going to overstep here 😜 by saying, take your time with mirrors and artwork bc everything from other home is going to be to small a scale. Next time you go thrifting find you a gargantuan mirror for your entryway bc you are now the lady across the room. Hugs to you all!

Now that you have pretty much gotten the whole house situated, just concentrate on one room at a time and get it done the way you want it to be. PLEASE find another place in your home for your desk. Your bedroom is a sanctuary where you go to rest at the end of the day. Having your desk in there brings your work and deadlines into that sanctuary. You are doing great Kim. 💝💝💝

I’ve watched this a few times now, just for the inspiration. I would love an opportunity for a fresh start, but it’s just me and my husband, and just not worth starting over. I love seeing what you do and buy. You put a LOT of happy in my day, I say out loud I need to watch some WADS. I adore that rug in the kitchen! Paddle boat! How fun.

The part where you were talking to us and Meredith kept calling you, lol, my life everyday. That's me, yes buddy, yes what do you need, lol, every 2 seconds but I cherish that time of life they grow to fast

I so remember when we moved into this house! it is over twice the size of our old home and I would wake up forever and just be in awe! Our bedroom is off of the livingroom and when I have the door open I see our fireplace, which is what was number one on my list of must haves! Meredith's room looks so good. I didn't realize it was that big. It looked a lot smaller without the furniture. I highly recommend movers. We used movers the last time we moved into our current apartment and it was a life saver.

I can't believe what two guys can move. We hired movers and they saved us so much time and back pain. Worth every penny.

I had a washer without the agitator like that. They say you should still kind of put the clothes to the edges as if the agitator was in there so it balances. When it was twirling at the beginning that is usually sensing the load size for the water.

So happy for you all! Just a little nudge to rethink displaying all those unused candles, and putting things back exactly how they were in your last house. Maybe you don't need to display them all. You could put them in the laundry room in a "candle" cupboard?

Oh my God the lighting in this house you look like a complete angel you are so unbelievably gorgeous. On day 2 when you were standing in the kitchen your eyes are so blue! I’m completely jelly 😋

Just don't forget the stuff in the drawer under your stove. Everytime we move, I have to rebuy cookie sheets, muffin tins, splatter shields and cooling racks 🤦 Everything looks so fun!! Ok maybe run is the wrong word 🤣

Pool Noodles for Meredith's bed!! You put them up under her sheets and it creates borders so she doesn't roll off. Get her a cute little step stool to get up/down, if it ends up being too tall. And she'll still prob roll out a time or two, but she'll be OK :P LOVE LOVE LOVE the entire house! And love watching you unpack!!

If there’s room under Meredith’s new bed, slide the toddler mattress under it. You can pull it out when she sleeps so if she rolls/climbs out of the new bed she has something soft to land on 😊

Make sure your air vents are cleaned if you really have allergic relatives. It makes a HUGE difference. Depending on what dogs they had, there may be bunches of hair that needs to be vacuumed out. So excited for you. I too have a beautiful water view, and I appreciate it every.......single.....day............Please check the furniture and if need be, anchor it down. At 16:08 in the video Meredith actually starts to climb her dresser. PS...........Uggggg....wish you saw my previous suggestion to pack a suitcase. That search for deodorant is real!! Been there.

Yes - more house tours, please! By the way - I´m German and that little "German bench" in your house - it´s a telephone bench. My grandmother had one of these in the 1970s and 1980s. The telephone that still had a cord then was on the right and the person who was on the phone sat on the bench. The big telephone book and the yellow pages were stored in the little cupboard below the telephone. : )

Thanks for taking us along as you move into your dream home. I agree that it was not right for the sellers to not be out in 60 days and leave the house in a non clean state, especially when they were told about allergies. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Rather inconsiderate since you were probably paying top dollar for the house. Our last move was terrible, we had so many things go wrong but we had bought our new house before the old one sold and we ended up getting screwed in the end. Live & learn, I guess. OMG the house is AWESOME SAUCE! Go online and download the owners manual for your washer and other appliances if the sellers did not leave them for you! My daughter at 5 had decent swimming skills jumped in the pool at a hotel right in the deep end when I told her to wait while I put the key down on a nearby table. Seen her head go under and never jumped and ran so fast in my life. Never been so scared EVER well one other time when I was holding the bathroom door open at Wendy's and she didn't come in two seconds. I ran around screaming thinking she got kidnapped. She was laying on two chairs under a table. 🤬🤬🤬

Funny watching Kim putting stuff away, reminded me of the cupboard it was in at their other home!!! Now that is transparency!👍

Just an idea for the landing zone, when Meredith has her room in the addition: if you want it by the front door, you can make a built-in bench the entire width of the door to Meredith's room, or even wider. And add shoe storage under it, plus a small closet for backpacks. Maybe even a hidden one? Remeber that one house with similar design, where every kid had their own "section"? The door to the room could be next to the phone table, it seemed possible... And this way, you have an office. 😎 Hope you get inspiration from this and best luck 😁

I love this so much!! Yes. That has been definitely an idea I've had too!!

I always line my drawers and cabinets. I usually use wallpaper and thumb tacks. That way it’s cheaper than drawer liners. That takes me the longest. Longer than putting stuff away. I would love big drawers like that. Instead of cabinets you need to get in the floor to see into. The last time we moved was over 22 years ago.

Don't over work yourself , take it a day at a time and a box at a time. Broken dishes can be replaces but bone can't , stay safe while unpacking and your home will be beautiful when you are done. And Happy belated 2nd Birthday Meredith.

LOL The washing machine balances the load and figures out how high the water needs to be. Mine isn't quite THAT fancy, but I was intrigued by the new washing machine lol.

Just my opinion bc I love them... Buy about 20-30 more of the exact black & yellow totes you already have and be super organized, know where things are and without clutter! Use your cricut to label each tote in 4" letters...? When I did this I was married, had a young child at home and worked at RUBBERMAID in Wooster, Ohio. I labeled with masking tape and marker. I miss those days.

Really liked that you took some time to paddle around. Enjoy figuring out how to get everything in a spot. Thanks for taking us along. Your reaction to the broken dishes was priceless!

I always do beds first, so you have a nice place to sleep after all the hassle.

Maybe kids are different today, but back when I was a child in the 60s there wasn’t such a thing as a toddler bed; you went from my crib to a regular twin bed. My brothers and I managed to live through that so I would guess kids today could probably be all right as well. We didn’t have hardwood floors like you do so that’s probably more of a concern than the carpet that we had at our house back in the day. I wish you luck with Meredith and her big girl bed and I’m excited for her that she gets her own room.

When you are without a knife or scissor..hold the part of the box up to make it so you can puncture the tape with a key or the end of a pen. Works like a charm.

Congratulations on your new home! I'm also a mom of 4, 3 girls and 1 boy. When my kids were just a little older than yours, my husband and I bought a house with 1.5 acres. Best decision ever! Our house became the 'hang out' home for our kids and their friends. I can see you and Alex being the same kind of parents!

The washing machine looks like a big computer that washes clothes. lol With the control panel of a Boeing 707. I hope they left you the manuals for all the appliances. Glad to know about front load washing machines! We're still renovated our house in the mtns, & hubby bought a new w/d, & I wanted a front loader bc they look so cool; however, he got a top loader. Now, I feel extra grateful! SN: I love you all - sooo happy for your family ♡

I lived in a house that had a front loader. Seemed like there were ALWAYS issues, including mildew and mold due to the front's thick rubber seal :(

I moved into our new home a year ago and front loaders are a bummer. Always have to leave the door open.

I live in Germany. Front loaders are the norm. Top loaders are rare. They do exist and cost more than front loaders. Those of us who have tried top loaders tend to hate them. LOL.

So funny how different people love different machines, personally I hated my front loader. At first I thought it was awesome and fancy... then I hated cleaning it alllll theeee tiiiiime. lol

I got a front loader and didn't end up liking it. When deciding to move across the country we sold those units bc they were pretty new. Decided to go back to a top loader and really prefer it.

I finally found slouchy tank in my size (everything else was out of stock) ordered 2 different colours and 10mins later my order was refunded as items "out of stock" lm so bummed😢

Every time we moved, my washer and dryer are the last ones on the moving van, first off and hooked up. Ready for use.

Thanks for the unpack video, if you don't want Meredith to fall out of the bed, my sister put pool noodles under the fitted sheet on the sides so her daughter had a little barrier. Love the new merch, my size xl is already sold out! Maybe next time. I moved to a big house 2 yrs ago, my advice ... get big rugs and wall art/mirrors, bigger than you would think.

If you're still looking for bar stools, I just got some from Home Depot on sale!! They're really nice and the best prices I could find for new bar stools. I'm so happy for you all! I hope you're all nice and comfy in your new home :)

Stop! Stop! That's way too many clothes for one load!!! Btw, someone has probably already told you, but when your washer shimmies like that, it's sensing and balancing the weight of the clothes so it can spin without going off kilter. Seriously though, don't overload your washer or you'll be replacing it sooner than you should be. Lastly - and someone has probably already mentioned this - you have plenty of room for an office space somewhere besides your bedroom. Let your bedroom be your bedroom, not your office, too. You're going to love living in this house. I'm so happy for you and your family! ~ Lisa

It is a seller market. Omg your van is full of thrift. The view is pretty. I love my front loader but cleaning the door and seal weekly with vinegar. I get it. I wear alot of the same clothes. Dealing with virtual school and homeschooling. I m wiped. I love the pantry. My garage was packed for 3 months. We had 3 storage units for 8 months. We sold two houses. It was a mess. We had to park outside the garage.
