In 1998, Ram Vilas Paswan, then-Hajipur MP, had spoken in Lok Sabha on a discussion on atrocities committed on minorities in the country. "Where there are Jats, there are also Muslim Jats. In some places, weavers became Muslims, in others, Dalits became Muslims. Therefore, it’s wrong to say that Muslims are descendants of Babur. When such language is used, even in passion, I think it’s not right. Let’s think with a cool mind and look back seven-eight-nine-ten generations. When Babur came to this land, Ibrahim Lodi was ruling, and he wasn’t Hindu. Before him was the Khilji dynasty, before that the Tughlaq dynasty, before that the Slave dynasty, and before that Mohammad Ghori’s rule. Islamic rule has been here since 1200 AD. Today’s Christians, like Mr. Sangma here, who would tolerate it if someone called them descendants of the English? Christians are tribals; 60 percent of Christians are Dalit Christians," he had said.

Mr Paswan was idealistic but later in career went where ever power was. His son has no ideals - just power hungry.

Sons of both persons who are in the video one as speaker(Yerrananaidu ji) and Ram Vilas Paswan ji are ministers in the current cabinet.
Hope Chirag Paswan too follows the ideologies of his late father and respects the secular spirit of the constitution. It was such a delightful speech, unearthed from the archives of past.

Chirag's political career started with NDA, he entered into politics in 2014 when ramvilas paswan decided to go with bjp, modi and ramvilas became very good friends, chirag in an interview said that modi ji took care of him like a father after ramvilas ji passed away, so it's more of personal bonding rather than ideological but it may turn ideological also as chirag nowadays is in direct influence of bjp top leadership
