I bought some, I am an engineer and I travel to plants around the country frequently. My company bought me some boots so I never wore the keens on the job site. I just wear them to the office because they were comfortable. I have had them about 8 months. They have only been worn sitting at my desk, walking around the grocery store and occasionally taking a 10 minute walk on my break period. The soles are coming apart and I can feel moisture on my foot when it rains and I walk across the parking lot, and now my feet hurt, today I decided was the last day I was going to wear them because my left foot is killing me. They were not cheap, I'm very disappointed.

I have loved Keen steel toe Braddocks, for their comfort and great traction ! I have been disappointed in them because both of the pairs I'v had split where the leather meets the sole on the left side of the left boot and the right side of the right boot in less than a year, long before the sole was worn out. I keep coming back to Keen because there Steel toes are the most comfortable I have found. My toes only really hurt if I don't take my boots off as soon as I get home. I usually wear 11D, thinking about trying 11 wide and hoping to have a little more room in the Steel toe.

I buy KEEN utility Braddock steel toe MID shoe for the last 8 years, wear them every day, sometimes for 12 and 16 hours, in every element possible, not once it gave me problems, not even once... never needed to brake them in, feels right straight out of the box. Im an electrician in my trade. I buy a new pair every year because i literally wear the same pair every single day for over 2000 hours a year. And then i keep the old pair for working around the house and side jobs and even after theyre still in good shape.

I've bought a pair of keen revel IV mid last autumn and they are junk (after less than 100 km). When I hike in snow, the socks are wet, the sole is disassembling and the front rubber is lose. Worst 180 USD boots... I'll go with european made boots.

I probably wore my keens about a dozen times at most, and after mowing the grass in them one day, I kicked them off on my covered patio, which is where they set for a couple months. I was shocked the next time I went to put them on, becaus the soles were literally just falling off the upper, just like ribs falling off of the bone.

My favorite is the Keen Detroit Xt wide. I am a utility locator and put in a lot of Miles everyday. They're simple, comfortable hiker style boots, and I've found the more complex they make the boot, the more fail points you have. I used to wear redwings, and I've had some danners as well. But I go through two pairs of boots a year regardless of maker or style because of the amount of walking I do. I haven't found a more comfortable hiker boot. I am interested in the Merrill brand though.

I just seen your review from 1 year ago about Keen utility boots. It's unfortunate that happened to you. I have purchased the Keen Durand 2 hiking boots about 2 year's ago and have hiked about 350 miles in them and they are holding up well but i care for them after each use by cleaning them with nikwax nubuck leather cleaner and use mink oil on them. They are still in good enough shape to keep hiking in them. Unfortunately they cost $210.00 but are very durable and built in Oregon

assembled in America means they put the cushion insert in and laced them up. :) I too bought my first pair of Keens about 8 months ago. Sole is coming apart at the glued joints already. Way too much money for a poor quality boot. I was super disappointed too. I grew up in Portland and it has turned into a complete liberal shithole. Keens politics have always sucked.... adding their boots to the shit pile now too. Bought some Oboz that are the same price range but way better built.

I tried a pair of OBOZ in my never ending quest for a quality boot, I got them last April and I was impressed from the get-go but the right boot started leaking after only 3 months and the left shortly afterwards. I actually just bought sketcher hikers 3 weeks ago, the reviews are excellent but so far they feel like something you’d buy at the dollar store and the lacing system sucks but I’ll see if they break in properly and last more than a few months 🍺🍺

I got 9 months out of them. The split never got any worse and the body held up really good but I’d wore through the soles on both boots. Trashed them in December. Last week I got a new set of boots, Keen Flint ll (the ONLY freakin boot I could find local), I had to buy them from a regional box store cause my local boot store can’t order any brand of boots until at least November. I wanted to go with Merrell this time but I guess I’m going to have to wait.

I have bought 4 different pairs of Keen boots over the years. I have not ever gotten a pair that lasted more than a month. They are the fucking worst waste of money on the market. They should be ashamed of themselves. I also got a pair of Targhee boots as well. The damn tread are glued onto the sole of the shoe in strips, and they peel off in under a week. So, basically I get charged $150 for a pair of shoes that are worse than Walmart quality. I keep thinking that I was just unlucky, and giving them another chance. But now I've learned to NEVER buy Keen boots ever again.

@@gtiguy1992able that's completely besides the point. When I spend $150 on a pair of shoes, I expect that pair of shoes to last at least a year, before having to file a return claim, and waiting a month or two to get a good pair of replacement shoes. Let alone have three pairs now, and all three are duds. I bought the original pair in February, and I still don't have a frikken pair of decent shoes.

Figured I'd give Keen a try, because I had read about how they seem to be such an ecological, and socially responsible company.
