There was only hmong green at the time. When war broke out between the hmong people and chinese, the emperor wanted hmong people exterminated. Hmong people fled and were chased to be killed, but their hmong green pants caught green thorns that were set as traps for hmong people in the forest and woods. To escape, hmong people cut the middle of their pants and the side to loosen them from the thorns. Ever since then, when chinese soldier came to ask the hmong people in tribal villages if they are hmong green or what kind of hmong they are, they denied being hmong green and told the soldiers that they are hmong white so they wouldnt be killed." if only both of my grandparents and great grand parents were still alive, they would tell so much about hmoob keeb kwm ntawm hmoob ntsuab and hmoob dawb.

great explanation of Hmong language. The white and green have different way of saying thing that cause each one to not understand each other. My grandma speak green while i'm white and sometimes i sure do not understand her but laugh cause its so funny that we both are Hmong but i couldnt' understand her until she try to translate it in white. Lol
