Kebu - Roland n/zyme Jam

I was only planning to try out a few sounds on the new Roland n/zyme wavetable synthesizer for the Fantom, when I suddenly had a complete demo song together. After a few practice takes, here's what it sounds like.
Only n/zyme patches were used and the demo was mixed in the Fantom. I did some small adjustments to each presets, to make them more suitable for the song. Only some multiband compression and limiting was added for mastering. Everything was performed and recorded live using the Fantom's built-in sequencer. Prior to the take I pre-recorded the "Chip stutter" and "Sine mine" sounds, because otherwise the intro would have been double this long, since I would have to wait for the recorded pattern to loop once before recording another pattern.

I’m 52, English and have such a varied range of tastes in music, rock, pop, prog, synth/new wave (80s kid!) alternative, etc - you get the point….but this tune..? Absolutely amazing - a showcase of an amazing instrument and an amazing musician. Outstanding 👍🏻 *Edit/Additional - at the end of 2022, the KZread thing did a ‘Your Year In Music’, or similar, video montage thing, and this tune smashed even my obsessional playing of Noel Gallaghers’ last 2 albums. Kebu…thank you 👍🏻 😉and Roland, of course 👍🏻

Every time I see you playing, I know very well, the Fantom can do everything. If it doesn't sound good to me, it's up to me and I have to make even more effort. You are so good. I enjoy watching you a lot. You are my motivation - thank you Kebu !!!

I liked the sound of this synth instantly when Roland released it. Worth having a Fantom for!
He knows this synth inside out - every function, every note. Yet it is just one synth of so many he has touched over the years !!! Awesome !!!

I knew the Fantom sounded good from demos I've heard/seen but, you just went and confirmed beyond any shadow of a doubt just how good this synth can be. Talent, true talent, is what makes all of the difference in the world and, my friend, you have it in spades. I absolutely love your music.

Да ничего нет такого выдающегося. Чел конечно крут как пользователь техники. Как композитор средне. Но на концерт-шоу сходил бы с удовольствием. Один из лучших

Dude, i love you for just existing @Kebu !!! This song, like others, helped me really quite often when health sometimes can get the worst of you. But sounds like you do, plus I love when you show off great synths and what you can do with them, make me feel good again, no matter the possible pain i am in. Excellent song Kebu (especially the ending)! The Fantom is my favorite synthesizer/workstation. So easy, so flexible, so Roland. I think that the n/zyme engine may become my new favorite engine. I heard someone else perfectly describe it as being warm and glassy at the same time. My favorite patch is #100 "Dream Bell." It changes so much with velocity, a really amazing sound. I've never done anything with wavetables, but as a fan of Jean Michel Jarre, I see a lot of potential with evolving sounds. I hope to see you do more with the Fantom in the future. Thank you!
