So carbs are not bad for you, but some people respond well to having less carbs in their diet. I've experimented for years doing high carb low fat, high fat low carb, keto, Paleo, I've done them all just to see how my body responded as an athlete, and I always felt better on moderate to low carb diets. Being in a caloric deficit is important, but the way you get to that deficit and the macros of that deficit can change the way you feel
