I think Primus's "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" in that game was one of my first exposures to the band. I'm still a huge fan years later, having seen them live several times and playing bass in a band that covered Primus a lot in highschool.

@grimrecords7656 you should get the remaster. It's 1 & 2 and the devs added mods so you have perfect balance, perfect grind and never fall. For whatever reason Spiderman isn't in it but it's like a trip down memory lane.

THPS is GOATED. It’s such an integral part of so many people’s childhoods.

Goldfinger was awesome. Spokesman gave me chills back in the day. Mega cheers to whoever included it in 4. Hours spent skating to that song!

Tony Hawks Pro Skater & Underground developed a lot of people's music taste & introduced a lot of black kids to skateboarding

Really appreciated how Tony Hawk games also represented that late 90s early 2000s underground hip-hop sounds.

Tony Hawk pro skater elevated skateboarding to a whole new level. Multiple tricks in one became the norm after this game.

I remember seeing this video of Tony skating in the 90s and they were banging some hip hop in the background. Just perfectly shaped my childhood and adult music taste to this day.

The power of THPS2 was that I ended up hearing half the music and finding out new genres to fall in love with, without ever playing the game. It was so infectious for people that my friends got me onto them. Because of this in 1999/2000 my favourite band was Millencolin, a skater pop punk band from Sweden. And I was a kid in Australia with no exposure to the alt music scene. How did this happen? Because of Tony. Thank you Tony. You helped a neglected young boy's emotions feel validated through the power of music. 🙏🙏🙏

his band did an episode of whats in my bag on amobea's youtube channel if you are interested.

They nailed it, and introduced a bunch of kids to some awesome records. The number of friends my age who reference THPS soundtrack as an entry point to artists they mess with today are so many. Always be grateful to the Hawk Man for that.

The most legendary crossover

I had a Tony Hawk game for the Gameboy Advanced but the one song that stood out to me was Break On Through (To The Other Side) by The Doors. I couldn’t get enough of it, and it was one of the reasons I wanted to keep playing that game so I could hum along with the music when it came on.

Honestly so much of my taste in music has it's roots in the Tony Hawk games, that and guitar hero.

Best main menu theme in my opinion

The Pro Skater games, Guitar Hero games, and Rock Band introduced me to a huge world of awesome music I never would have noticed. Before that, all I really knew was what plays on the radio, movies, and MTV when it was actually Music Television. Vh1 (i think) was pretty solid too, I loved the 80's music videos.

He wasn't kidding about the amazing music department at Activision, they put together some great tracks building off of his initial picks. It all fit together and complemented the game beautifully.

For me, nothing will ever beat Guerilla Radio in THPS2. Still one of the best games of all time.
