I think that's the songs purpose nostalgia is mostly remorse for something you miss in an idealized way. I rhink this song is about ones self and reconnecting with yourself. so the somewhere only 'we' know is yourself.

My fiance and I would dance under the stars listening to this, I lost her in a car crash the year after this came out. I cant help but tear up everytime I hear it, sometimes on purpose. It hurts bad, it also feels strangely cozy somewhere deep. Life is shorter than you think, tell the people you love them as much as and as often as you can.

I feel that pain. So sorry for your loss. I listened to this with my dad many years ago. He committed suicide on new years eve of '11. Every time I hear this song I cry and remember the last memories I have of him. In a snow covered park.

This song isn’t really a sad song tbh, this feels more like a song wrote because of memory. Our most valuable asset. We are wanting to get older and more mature. But when we stop to think for once we realize we took for granted the good times. It’s less of a sad thing but more a natural turning point to make every moment mean something because in the end, at any moment life could slip by and you won’t notice till it’s gone. So for those who read this whole thing… everyday you will see and experience something new, enjoy the new things because you won’t want to miss it.
