Clips are really short so ones with lyrics are helpful if you want people to really be able to guess. I’m a professional singer so I have a great ear. Some I hadn’t heard because I hadn’t seen the show. In some, the clip was so obscure I doubt the majority even really heard it when watching. The ones I’d seen with lyrics or an unmistakable instrumental (ie Goblin) I nailed. I imagine this would be about the same for non-professional musicians as well.

I agree, I was able to guess the ones I've watched recently but the ones I've watched long ago, the short audios ain't very helpful
