KDA-POPSTARS [SFM/Re-creation]

Hey Guys Longg time no see!
This video is a remake of the popular League of legends video KDA . My goal was to push SFM's limits to its core and see if I can somewhat remake this amazing video. I've tried my best to recreate it, through making props,costumes, lighting, animation movements and even cinematography.
But Im back with another video, this project was a year in the making. I started this around january in 2019.
Sorry I haven't poster a lot, its been a bit hard but I can explain why. The reason being.
1. All animation is done by me. ( No cycles were used from other people) I made my own cycles for the animation. Dance cycle, strut cycle.
2. I had to learn some stuff about blender ( Made the Ahri tail ) This was done with help from a friend
3.Costumes were made by someone else and took a little while to do.
4.I had to do some techniques no one has ever done in sfm, so it took awhile to figure out how to do what I wanted to do.
5. Animation University took over as I put that ahead of my KZread channel .
6.I have more of a standard for my content ( Im a perfectionist or try my best to be with my videos)
So again Im sorry it took such a long time.
Some stuff I couldn't obviously do, like the Anamorphic lense and the dragon on the train as sfm dosen't support the anamorphic lense effect ( unless I wanted to stitch footage and that is painful) The train Uv mapping was layerd on ONE TEXTURE...So that was a no go, even decompile and recompiling the Uv's were so messy I knew that would take a couple of months for me to fix. So I made the decision to scrap that part.

Then how did you found this video? Cause we know pony related videos aren't always in people's recommendation unless they watch mlp related videos. It could be you searched it up or a friend recommend you this.

How I have not seen this before, this is beyond amazing. One of the best SFMs in years. Recreating that dance sequence using MLP characters must have been tough to do..

This is actually really cool The dance moves not only match the beat, but look possible. You (the animator) really thought "quadruped" a LOT better than I could. Also, Rainbow as a graffiti artist, and Rarity as a car.... Designer? Idk what that profession is called. They look great. Also, Twilights books looking like a second set of wings needed a second look to notice, and a third to appreciate. Well done

maaaaaaaaaate everything about this is absolutely GORGEOUS. The vibrant colours are mindblowing especially and the dance is so cute. It's super great seeing all your hard work pay off in the end

I find the tail movement dash makes at 1:30 surprisingly pleasant to watch. Amazingly well-done animation btw, seriously.
Wow I've finally come back from when I was 13 to see how sfm have evolved and they are so much better now, I love this. But you can never go wrong with the oldie ones either

Haven't payed much attention to MLP since 2013, but it's great to see some people are still putting effort into cool fan stuff like this. I love the costumes and choices for who is who.
The character models look amazing, the outfits you created for them were very good. The segment where Rainbow does the rap was probably the best part, you did an excellent job capturing the mouth movements on her mask, and Rarity was looking pretty good in that scene too. The crystal... tails? Around Sunset could use some work. And the dance animation being mostly them hopping from one foot to another is a bit odd in how lacking in movement it is. But otherwise this is a very lovely recreation and you did a great job.

Yeah the tails was my first time modeling. Sorry about that. The dance I can say for a fact was the hardest part of the whole animation. Just having them dance in a 3d space is so hard. Mainly because I can't really break the characters like in 2d. But ty for the feedback its much appreciated! ^^

i actually enjoyed this. loved the choices of the mlps for the l.o.l k/da characters. it was fitting and gold.

KDA has good music and some fine moves... but this... well, other than being some of my fave ponys, is very well done.
I just realized They copied the mask scene from the real one at 1:20
The levitation effect after 1:42 feels soo good, thank you so much for creating this

A fuckin' rock solid animation my guy! A real step up in the quality. The motion is rock solid and works smoothly throughout and the style works really well throughout. Only issue I noticed is the sudden letterboxing and loss of it but it's really minor given the quality of the video. Top job mate!

The fact that the animation is actually good-
This is even much better than the original version obviously, the song and voices just fit every ponies in this video, when I heard first lyric from Sunset Shimmer, it just like she sings this indeed. This is so crazy.

This feels dry to me. I am glad you can enjoy it but as a fan of the original videos I feel it is cheap. The video is probably done for fun and I feel that should be recognised.

When I upgrade from this dinosaur of a computer, I'm going to have to try SFM for myself. Not that I'll ever be as good as you. By that time, we'll have nano-circuit clothes like RD's mask. Seriously awesome work, especially the faces and dancing.
