Its so cool seeing 707's with high bypass cfm56's on them, so much more power than the old low bypass screamers they originally had. Those planes must haul butt.

Its not a a 707. ;) It´s a KC-135. They look similar at first sight but are completely different types.

Man those fucking things were cooking down the taxiway. I've never seen aircraft of that size taxi that fast. Must have been some emergency drill.

Nah, truth is they're carrying tankers of chicken soup aboard; and that stuff only stays liquid for so long at high altitude. (It's a simple question of physics; you can't pump a solid mass of chicken soup down a refueling pipe, to a hungry A10 pilot.) have a nice day

I was stationed at Andersen AFB Guam from August 1973 to November 1974 when it was SAC. B-52/KC-135 main aircraft although C-5s, C-141s and other planes passed through . But the KC-135 was my favorite to see takeoff it was loud but they would really haul ass going down the runway.

You know those kc 135 tankers are getting it when you see the fog going over the wings they are definitely moving even though I like the old j57 turbojets the most the cfm 56 is a very good engine they are very efficient and got some good power they definitely picked a good engine to power the kc 135

Have all or most of these planes been re-engined? I’m assuming they are based off of the 707 or am I wrong?? I was just watching a video of another one of these planes and the engines were much smaller and narrow or am I wrong about that as well??

Boeing at their best. Solid platform with amazing lifespan. Just great engineering. Current engineers need to look back on the many amazing Boeing production aircraft and recapture that engineering excellence that produced 100 year airframes. It’s not a lack of talent, it’s a lack of leadership.
