That's so true, in MMA, BJJ has a lot of strategic advantages, and talking about kyokushin, the tough training, the tough body of long time practicioners can give them MORE THAN ENOUGH weapons to help them in any kind of battle, maybe they will have to use other techniques but anyway with their speed and toughness they can endure a lot of pain and can inflict significant damage hitting, so kyokushin is very useful for real situation, even if instead of using kyokushin you just use street fight.

Videos do prove something. But I never said that you can learn so much from video but it is true that you can find a lot of inspiration in videos and that sure helps the learning proces.

The rules in a tournament are not a good representation of what you practice in the gym. At our kyokushin gym we also train boxing etc.

It would be nice for people to realize that the best way to change someone's opinion is not by sitting but standing up and doing. You have an opinion? Don't type it, drive it into your opponent with your fists and feet. Comments in these matters should be for getting details on the fight.

@stoyashot i guess ur lucky then, im even willing to quit kyokushin after hearing my current teacher say: "in karate we dont hit the face so we wont train for it either" No i rather train muay thai or kickboxing then but with the intention and spirit of a kyokushin fighter. Osu :)

They say it are 2 diffrent styles... but all i see are low kicks and punches against the chest, always the same way by both of them. There isnt any technique to see specaly no difference. It looks just like more or less "wild" punch-up. Sometimes a nice block, but thats all.

Any discussion on real life environment is stupid, if it is needed you can destroy eyes, bite flesh etc if you know someone is trying to grapple you, you can say wrestlers are very fast, I give you that, but I think you are also underestimating the human reaction against a life-death situation, I think Kyokushin is very effective because of the tough training, it improves your reactions, your resistance and speed, so that IS USEFUL, and BJJ training must also improve a lot of stuff so shut up.

As a matter of fact I have sparred with a mate of mine who is a brown belt in TKD. He fought just like the TKD you see on the olympics: hands on the hips. At that time I was a white belt karate so he must have not expected it, I kicked to his head and I was shocked: no defense. So my kick landed right on his cheek. That a sport is in the olympic games doesnt mean anything. But if you like watching TKD, go ahead. If you would tell me, why do you find these karate masters shit?

everybody has his own taste but its certainly a bit strange that you say you dont like watching karate but you still visit this video. Go watch that fake taekwondo if you like flashy weak kicks with the hands on the belt.
