I love this plug-in. I actually put in on every channel in my session. Though it's a relatively subtle saturation, I find the cumulative effect across the mix really adds a great character.

sold! your videos are always on point and just a perfect straight and to the point description and everything needed for us to make a judgment. I absolutely love this, the fact that you can go from an LA2A, to a u73, to a 1176 bluey, and everything in between, but what's even better? I actually think whatever setting was at the top right, not the German compressors but maybe it was? I don't recall. You said it was a neve channel strip compression? where noticeably bumps and adds harmonic content to the snare range, and gives a minimal bump to the low end. especially for guys like me that use the low pass filter at 250hz, on a copy/pasted bass track, And don't really need or want an extra low-end bump that much, just some transparent low end subfloor which is nice. The thing, the plug-in itself, is phenomenal

I had a question about this. If I'm using this as an input for my channels to emulate an analog workflow, do I use this AS a preamp and deactivate analog modeling in say an SSL console, or do I use this transformer into a channel strip and also use the analog modeling of the channel strip? I know ultimatel in DAW, "whatever sounds good" is right but maybe someone can humor me anyway.

Typically, I would use this on my master bus but there are no "rules". Try it in the places you suggested and whatever sound best to you, that is the way to go. That test should only take about 5 min.

How do you think this compares to the effort Studio One has put into their MixFX effects? I know it's a different application being that the MixFX effects are not plugins, but would just like to get your opinion on what would probably be a better way to get analog sound into your mixes.
