Kazimezh. Poland. A trip to the historical city.

Kazimierz is a historical city of the 14th century, now a district of the city of Krakow.
From its appearance in the 14th century (1335) to the beginning of the 19th century (1818), Kazimierz was a self-governing city south of Kraków and separated from it by a side channel of the Vistula, which has now dried up. The north-eastern part is the historical Jewish district. For many centuries, Kazimierz was a place of synthesis and coexistence of Jewish and Christian cultures. Today it is one of the main tourist attractions of Krakow, as well as an important center of the city's cultural life.
Kazimierz Town Hall is well preserved. It is located on the former Market Square, now Volnytsia Square. Now the building houses the Ethnographic Museum. You can buy delicious national "sandwiches" on Novy Square
Let's get acquainted with some architectural monuments of Jewish culture.
