‘Waste Time’ is an unfiltered mourning of wasted time and potential, in which Kaylan confronts an ex and admits his regret in pursuing the relationship even though “we knew this wouldn’t work”. He testifies through toxic lyrics that it’s obvious his perception of love has been conditional and flawed, which has now led him up to ruminating about the wasted time that he will never get back. The instrumental produced by P You Got That is reminiscent to the minimalism in a previously delivered track: ‘No Drums’, which is another acoustic-style song embedded with heavy emotional depth and a realism that naturally comes easy to Kaylan.
