@@damianziokowski8421 it felt like what cyborg did with amanda; amanda broke when she couldn't bully pena, that's the way i saw it and she went full one dimensional and reactive. the more i rewatch the more i see that pena mentally broke her by not getting bullied when amanda did land. idk just another opinion, silver lining in all this is that there WILL be a rematch :)

Kayla standing up for her friend is admirable, but 9 times out of 10 - did she even see the fight. She made Amanda quit. It was not a lucky shot or anything.

Amanda was completely gassed after bullying her in round 1. She didnt come close to looking that bad even against Germaine who knocked the hell out of Amanda and forced her to grapple the rest of the fight. The same Germaine who crushed Pena a few fights ago.

Pena came out and made Amanda look predictable, one dimensional, and unprepared. Nunes either comes back and destroys Pena in rematch, or begins to fall back from the fight game. IMO.

Imagine having only beaten cans in a B league and then discrediting a woman who just beat the gwoat who has fought and beaten the biggest female stars in the sport for years.... Put some fkn respect on pena's name.

That B League has paid her more in 2 tournaments that in Penas whole career. Winning the belt won her 300k before that she was making 45k/45k. Pena talked shit on her first and she did it knowing she'll never fight her at 145 cause she would get crushed. I fully expect her to do some bs like challenge her to come to her weight where kayla would have to completely drain herself and then some.

Completely disagree with the 9 times out 10 crap. Pena chose to brawl and beat the best ever at her own game. In a rematch, Pena can choose to go to the ground for 5 rounds if need be, and her specialty are submissions, on top of always having elite cardio and unmatched will power. They keep on disrespecting Pena. My prediction for the rematch is that Amanda comes out with more technical and tighter boxing, but instead of brawling, this time around Pena takes her to the ground and grinds her down.

@@RobertLofrano I just watched the second round. her tank wasn’t on empty. She was still feinting and pushing forward , she landed some nice shots . In fact she gassed out during those exchanges , from a lot of people that know nunes , she’s been known as not having a great gas tank. Peña just had all the attributes to get the job done . Stellar job by Peña , I always root against Amanda. Sorry I’m not a Amanda fan but even I can tell she was still a threat until those last exchanges where finally she looks gassed her hands started coming down , and her posture changed , she took a few combos that really rocked her

I just can't take her seriously.

@@isolani8299 oh i agree 100% bc she looked skinny and amanda never looks that like ripped and thin. i feel its probably a combination of all the above. she was unable to train like she normally does likely from the covid but also in general i saw a lot more social media posts about thr family and her son than i did about training and dedication to the fight game. perhaps this was an awakening and we will see nunes go on a small run of wins and retire on top (i hope), but if u saw how she talled without much protest and even seemed chill in defeat it almost seemed like her fighting spirit has changed. i hope im wrong, i love Amanda and want to see her go out on top. i will give her this she still swoll up penas eye even though she was visibly gased in the first round and had nothing in 2nd round punches.

To me , this fight reminds me of Rocky III. Nunes lost her edge. She lost " The eye of the Tiger." All the Great ones fall to adversity. Now it's Nunes' turn. Pena showed up, but Pena fans are acting like she is one of the Greatest of all time and defended the title as long or even longer than Nunes. I don't see Pena going at schevchenko who defeated Pena at her own game. Schevchenko vs Pena 2 needs to happen then the rematch. Pena won the title. i mean you're kind of right, but at the same time, the ufc is king at promoting their athletes, and since she's not a UFC athlete, they havent ever promoted her at all. but they could do a very good job of summarizing in a promo how good she is. 2 gold medals is amazing, they could show what elite company she's in there, and i think being undefeated, regardless of competition, is something that sells well to casuals as well. there's a soundbite of khabib saying he doesnt see how anyone could beat harrison that would really make casuals do a double take as well.
