love the emerald green water. I remember some of the early scenes from the original Planet Of The Apes movie from 1968 were filmed here. The images of Charlton Heston and the other two astronauts in this beautiful landscape come to mind as you kayak through these slot canyons

Christine Rousseau That was through the slot canyons on Lake Powell- a must do if you ever get the chance to go there. Most of the year that is the only way to see these canyons.

Lake Powell is not a natural lake JW Powell would have hated Lake Powell You shouldn't use a toy kayak to paddle a body of water that big Since all kayakers will eventuall have an unplanned entry into the water , they shouldn't go in the water until they've been formally trained in how to get back into their kayak
