I'm so jealous, it looks absolutely amazing. That's your own kayak right, how did you bring it from home? Just put it on top of a car/van/trailer and drove to Sweden or via some other way?

Hey Tiax, thanks for your comment. Kayaking Sweden is amazing indeed (luckely so is kayaking in my home country The Netherlands 🤠). Yes, I put the kayak on my car. But there are several rental stores in Sweden also.

Beautiful videos and very well made. May I ask your opinion on the seabird victory kayak? I am considering to get one but can't find many info online (maybe you can recommend some resources). I' m a beginner. Intended use would be coastal exploration and camping in sometimes choppy Mediterranean waters.

Thanks for your kind compliments! 🤠 I like the Seabird Victory very much. I have the HV (High Volume) version, with a lot of space under deck, large deck hatches and it can carry a lot of weight. All important for multiday tours. Still it catches relatively little wind. The kayak tracks well and is pretty stable in waves. I think the boat is less suitable for surf. For daytrips I would choose a low volume boat.

More info for example here: seabirddesigns.com/product/victory-hv/ and here: mykayak2012.blogspot.com/2012/05/review-of-seabird-expedition-hv-2012.html?m=1 For the price you can hardly go wrong on this boat. Good luck!

Thank you for your response and feedback. Prijon touryak 500 was another consideration but the seabird has a better price. Are you satisfied with the construction quality? There is a yt video showing a specimen with serious defects. Also there is no dealer near where I live. Can you tell me where did you buy yours?

@@gm68810 I got mine secondhand just around the corner from were I live. After trying several other PU boats - this felt the best by far to me. No doubt. The construction is solid (for a PU boat). The multilayer makes it a lot more stiff than regular PU boats. But the compartiment inserts need to be glued by hand to insure waterproofing when used on open water. Glueing the compartiments also brings additional hull stiffness when carrying the boat solo. There is only one thing that annoys me, that is there is a (very small) amount of water leaking trough the rudder cable holes in the back. Enough to get things wet after a couple of hours on choppy waters. I pack most gear in bags, but still get's a bit messy sometimes. And the carrying handles are a bit uncomfortable. If I would go out to sea a lot, I would probably get a decent secondhand polyester boat. For fresh water (smaller waves) this suits all my needs perfectly.

Thanks again. I saw somewhere that they're using rubber hoses extending from the cable holes to prevent water ingress. Fair winds and kind seas to your journeys.
