Where you have your seat positioned is something that is widely misunderstood in my opinion. The Seat position effects your boats trim, ie how much your bow is up or down. This has a massive impact on how your boat surfs, crosses eddy lines, rolls etc. Moving your seat around should not be the first thing you do to make your boat fit your body, but the other way around, you need to paddle your boat a bit, find where your weight should be and then add or subtract to the foot block, back band etc. Trial and error play a bit of a part too, so make time to get some rounds in, do the work and then reap the rewards!
