54cm is a stud bass. Most would be excited to catch a fat lazy 50+ bass in SE QLD impoundments. To catch that in the wild particularly down south is phenomenal. Congrats mate.

Wow I was only half way through the vid & I wanted to congrats you already , the rock face spot was amazing I would have just rolled into the water & swam for an hour or so , the footage of the rapids was next level mate I would have given Mr right arm to do that so awesome , I have to say you just keep putting out banger vids Nev & even though we alllll want the location you say nothing which is awesome too , as we all know it would be ruined in weeks . Huge congrats Nev words can’t express how good your content is.

I usually find with bass if there starting to follow your lure in and not striking it you need to change it up. Surface fishing for them usually only works well in early Morning and late afternoon unless fishing structure like Lilly’s and dense over hangs

Love the video Nev, I reckon you should do a vid where you use a squid tentacle as a soft plastic. Keep it up 👍

Great effort Nev, ive been hooked on Bass fishing for couple year's now and never looked back , also hooked on topwater, awsome way to fish. Day 1 of me telling you NOT to get Nev to make a video of one of the biggest threats to our ecosystems in the north. Tilapia, like carp, will destroy rivers. They are from Africa and released by dills who found they got too big in their aquarium. They will soon decimate all the local species of native fish when their populations grow. We have warning signs here to immediately report sightings of Tilapia.

Top stuff mate! Just being in that place would've done it for me. Unreal to get onto some fish like that.

These rivers in this region are not called wild rivers for nothing. Attempts and plans have been made to dam them for irrigation but Greens have always jumped in to save them. Just as well. There are not that many rivers left in Australia that have not been dammed. Damming a river effectively kills the native species that need to forage up and down and have the wild swings of flood and drought. Beautiful Bass and to all those who kept calling Nev’s Estuary Perch as Bass should now understand they’re NOT the same fish.

Hey mate, this season i tried my hand chasing bass first the first time too! I had the most success on chatterbaits. Never got a hog 54 like that though... Nice fish, a good reward for all your efforts!

Tip for ya, always cast weres there's large rocks...they hold warmth , bass like 2 keep warm👍

TN60's on a slow roll is by far the most versatile subsurface lure on the market imo. Never go a session without tying one on

Great content! Those are some big bass! Do they have spines on their upper fin? We have large Smallmouth bass here in Canada, and I usually use drop shots, ned rigs or poppers to target them.

Remember that American fish and Aussie fish are not related. The continents split off too early for any similar genes to pass down through the millions of years. Bass is just a common name. Look up their scientific name to see that they’re different.
