Kayak Fishing for Big Cutthroat Trout at Scofield Reservoir

Thanks for taking time out of your day to watch this video. On today's adventure I find myself at Scofield Reservoir. Over all, I had a good day of fishing and catching trout, but I dealt with probably the roughest winds and battled the biggest whitecaps in my kayaking experiences to date. My LifeTime Tamarak did ok, but I ended up pretty soaked from the waves and splashes. Unfortunately half way through the day my GoPro froze and stopped recording so this video only shows a fraction of the fish I was able to catch.

We sure love fishing those Jake’s, they always catch! It’d be nice to rig up a sail on that kayak, great to see all of the lakes nice and full!

@@baitnbullets Yes, I caught a 17” Cutty and a 17and 1/2” rainbow and my wife caught a 20” Cutty! But no luck on the Jake’s lure. lol. We caught them at what used to be the ladders.

Yes it caught me off guard. I drifted all the way to the dam. then I had to paddle in to the wind and waves all the way back. Its was a work out. Happy Fathers Day Stacy!

Thanks for watching. I am sorry I don't have a video on how I mounted my fish finder to the kayak. I bought this Kayak a few years ago to try Kayak fishing and it turns out that I like it! this Kayak is a Tamarak angler made by Lifetime. this kayak doesn't come with a fish finder mount. I added it after I bought it. Looks like it is on sell for $24.00 right now on amazon. what's up buddy! I am super jealous of your new kayak! congrats! that Kayak is the one I am saving up for! yes this is the Garmin Striker 4. I am super happy with the the strike 4. For a budget Fish finder I am super happy with it! It does great marking fish and depth. I love how you can see your lure as well. So if you see a fish above or below your lure you can reel up or down to the fish. Its a game changer! I Don't go fishing with out it. I also use the same fish finder for the ice season! I hope this helps!
