I know it man, sorry about that! I've been off the grid in Arizona doing a project for their tourism board (that series will be coming soon, and it was an amazing trip) and haven't been able to edit or upload. I'm back to the grind now and back to your regularly scheduled programming! Appreciate your patience brother.

When it breeched, it must've been hitting the surface at like 40 mph or MORE!!!! That's absolutely incredible!!! The sheer and raw POWER of those creatures is humbling!!!! I had the same problem last year, so I left Marty and head to the shore line, could not believe how many big snaps I caught within metres of the shore. 👍 to Aarons (& Michelles) food - love the sushimi and beer after a long day on the water.

Yeah man we spend more time up shallow in upcoming episodes

Son and I spent 9 days out the back of Barrier, Arid, Mokes late March. Snapper fishing around Arid and nearby was as good as I have ever had there. Also heaps of Trevally not far from Arid this year which are a sashimi treat as well as great whole fish Hapuka baits. Hapuka fishing out from the Mokes was over in 3 just drops. As much fish as we could eat and give away. Good season for everything except couldn't find any XOS kingies this year for some reason. Even though we travel there ourselves we still love watching your NZ shows and your enthusiasm for what is a pretty special place.

Crazy to see! The Nomad is SWEET but it’ll be a little bit, got NZ then fly fishing in Arizona and New Mexico before back to kayak fishing US. I’ll see if I can sneak one in in between

Awesome footage, but question for you. Once you get the larger fish on, why don't you tether the kayaks together or to the larger boats to add as more weight the fish has to fight? too dangerous?

Yeah, that’s a bad idea. Kayaks can’t behave like they need to when tethered together. Asking to flip and get tangled in lines or whatever else

These are Hobie Outbacks. They do great in calm water but not as good with bigger chop

It’s not warm but not freezing. We swim around the boat but if you’re in for extended periods you’d want a thin wetsuit

You really dont think of a ten ft shark as being able to jump like that but that was waaay up in the air

Makos are known for their acrobatics. I promise the footage did NOT do it justice. It was crazy to witness in person. It sounded like someone dropped a grand piano in the water behind us when it first landed. I turned and saw the huge splash and thought a small whale had breached

Covid was very challenging for all travel companies. Half the lodges we worked with shut down during the lockdowns. We are working on a few new offerings. I believe we’ll be doing the San Clemente mothership trip in California again next summer.

New Zealand 2024? Wonder how I slide that one past the warden.

I don’t stuff my hands in their gills, I grab where the gill plate meets the jaw and avoid touching the actual red gills. And if you think tossing them hurts them, you underestimate what these fish go through on a daily basis.
