Kaya koy Ghost village in Turkey. Lot's to do so follow me and explore! July 2021 awesome!

Ойын-сауық

Kaya koy goes way back in history. A brief description on that is after World war 1 the Greeks and Turks were still in conflict. The Turks banished all Greeks from kaya koy formally known as lebessos . This was reciprocal. Nobody lived in the village after 1923 and it has been an open air museum ever since and on the Unesco list. An amazing place to wander around with many many homes, schools and chapels scattered around and you can go in all of these place for a mere 12tl.
The valley of Kay Koy offers more than the Ghost village . It is scattered with BBQ restaurants , cafes, shops and there is so much to do.
Kaya koy is only 10 minutes from the resort of Hisaronu and 20 minutes from Olu Deniz. Fethiye the beautiful Turkish town again half an hour.
The local restaurants some have free swimming pools and you can relax here all day and stroll the Ghost village at your leisure.
Walking the streets in the valley is fantastic and you really get the feeling you are in somewhere special.
Accommodation, if you feel you want more than 1 day then it is easy. Many guest houses and chalets scattered everywhere and cheap also. Camping is also possible.
So you can explore, you can chill you can do a bit of both.
The movie the water diviner and many others were shot in the Ghost town.
The valley offers Horse riding for the energetic and also camel rides through the valley.
Do not forget to take advantage of many of the small eatery pancake places that are cheap and get yourself a Gozleme....Delicious.
Kayakoy is a wonderful experience!

Another fantastic video Mr. Fethiye. I've been hoping you'd do a video about Kayakoy as it seems like one of the best places to settle into in that region. Quiet peaceful village yet still close to everything in Fethiye. What shocked me was the price of the villas in this village. Houses are quite a bit more expensive than here in the United States.

We have been many times. The camel and donkey rides are great. Utopia is a lovely relaxing place to have a meal and a cold beer. That walk up to the ruins is a bit of a killer in the heat.

Hi.. We are in ovacık right now but we couldn't go to ölüdeniz Beach because of traffic jam every day. 6 km by car will take a hour. Is this normal or not because a lot of restaurants are close because of not enough customers, but the streets are full like no tommorow. Greetings
