I completely disagree with you saying this bike has no character - it being a four cylinder and its smoothness IS its character and charm. I think you've somehow missed that.

I agree. De-cat and tune and you have plenty of character from the engine

Because I'm an old git I drooled over the Z1, Z900 etc in the 70's but could never afford one, now I own a 21 plate Z900 in black and silver and I am in love. Even during the seemingly constant rain I can take a cup of coffee, sit in the garage and just stare at this beautiful machine. No bike is ever perfect but the Z900RS very damn close.

I started my Apprenticeship in 1972 and one of the guys bought a brand new Z1 in 72/73 and you’ve never seen so many guys drooling over his bike. A sad day for the guys who owned Triump Bonnevilles and Norton Commandos. The Z1 truly was a game changer.

Love Kawasaki retro bikes. I currently own an 05 ZRX1200R. Had it since new. No mods. It's exactly like it came out of the crate. These in-line 4s from Kawasaki are practically bullet proof. Mine was a father's day gift from my wife. I'll never sell her. The bike, not the wife. :)

I have a 2001 fully upgraded. I was very excited for The release of the z900rs and did a test ride. TMF is correct- zero riding character. I thought I would be blown away with modern power but it wasn't even close.

Hello. Congrats to your choice. I`m 100% on your side. I bought mine in march 2023....and I wanted exactly the SE model. So I ordered in winter 2022 a new 2023 model. Arrived in march 2023. I`m very satisfied with every kind of riding......comfort is perfect. Grip heating, custom seat with heating...main stand and some other extra things on it. You can do anything with that bike....touring, sport, cruising...anything is possible without any negative reasons. I`m 60 years old and had every kind of bikes..but this one is really perfect for me, in my opinion. And also the sound and look of the whole bike is perfect, really nice. Regards from germany and stay healthy and enjoy your rides.

I bought a 2021 Z900 RS shortly after you put it your top 5. Good call. That sound never gets old. Congrats on picking up the SE!

After passing my test, all I wanted was the most powerful motorcycles I could find. As I thought that was the key to enjoying them. Fast forward six years and I’m enjoying the delights of a CRF250 Rally, for me it’s pretty perfect on the crappy broken up roads of East Anglia, with the ability for some light off roading.

I love the round dials, must have for a retro bike, and you still have a small screen for fuel, gear position etc. You got it right, a very well executed update of a standard motorcycle of decades past.

I've got a 2023 Z900RS, popped about 5K miles on it over the last year. It's been an utter hoot to ride and own. I'm running a Yoshimura Straight Cyclone exhaust, a Rapidbike tuning kit, and a Sprint air filter. I'm looking at getting a proper remap done to protect the engine a bit better, but man, the tweaks have turned this into a proper weapon. The only thing that lets it down is the suspension on the standard bike. One day, when I've saved a few pennies, I'll get some new forks etc sorted.

Lovely … looks like they have really nailed it… nice to start my Saturday off with a dose of TMF… looking forward to your next mini tour 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Surely it's not that it doesn't have character but that it's character is that of hyper smoothness and efficiency. If you want vibrating mirrors and numb hands take out one of your more "characterful" set of wheels ! Oh, and the looks are stunning -reminds me so much of the original Z1 that I drooled over as a schoolboy.

Totally agree. comments that the bike is great then said it has no character ?. i have thought after watching your videos regarding this bike many times that you seem to have changed your mind about it Andy and always seem to prefer your Triumph speed twin which is a great bike, looked at them myself before buying my Z900RS. maybe you should stick with the vibrating mirror and numb hands bikes that has been said above. And before i get knocked for this comment i would like to point out iv had Harleys, Z1000 4th gen and Z900RS and everyone of them had character. the sound alone of the stock Z900RS is character. beginning to think you bought this bike on a whim or did i not understand the end of the video.

What is often referred to as "character" is often just "faults"

I do enjoy a Kawasaki retro, they do seem to nail them from time to time, think not only of this stunning machine but also the old ZRX1100/1200.

My friend bought one of the original Z1Bs in the mid 70s which was an amazing machine and I have to say that Kawasaki have nailed the styling on this particular retro machine 🤩

I’ve owned many motorbikes since the age of 17 I’ll be 63 this coming May, blimey! That’s only next month 😮 My brother owned a Z1 back in the 70’s and I was brave or stupid enough to go pillion. I took delivery of my 2019 Z900rs “Jaffa” two years ago and can honestly say I enjoy this bike more everyday. I have had a de-cat and remap and made it my own with other lovely modifications like the retro kawasaki tank badges, twin horns and Kawasaki fork emblem, colour matching rear hugger, a better rear light, grab rail, amongst other modifications oh! and lowered custom made seat. It’s worth investing in a decent set of tyres too.

It's hard to describe to someone who's never ridden one how good the Z900RS. Its so comfy for a bike that isn't overly tall

Possibly the best looking bike in your garage. Kawasaki nailed it with the looks of the Z900RS 👍🏻👍🏻

I think it has the big Japanese 4 vibe that used to be huge in my motorcycle past, so to me, it does have character.

If anything, the Z900RS is of steadfast character. Dependable, reliable, yet performance wise, it stays the course set by the Z1 fifty years on...it is the perfect motorcycle for me.

I’ve been riding for 54 years and have owned 20 different bikes. Overall my 2018 Z900RS is the most enjoyable bike I’ve ever owned. Just wish they had the SE version in 2018.

I agreed with every word you spoke on your Z900, until the very end. As an owner of a bike with bags of character, my BSA GoldStar, I disagree with your comments on your bikes character. From the twin clock's to the fuel tank and the engine, to me its loaded with character and I'd love one in my garage.

@@gsrossco I don’t disagree at all that they are great motors and while character is subjective in theory I’m yet to hear someone honestly describe one as “characterful” in practice. “Smooth” yes, “perfect” perhaps… Each to their own of course but my answer to the question of whether a bike/motor can be too perfect is yes…for me at least. I do love looking at these and completely understand why someone would want and enjoy one ✌🏻

@@johnlaw5762 I agree to a point, but it depends how you ride it. If you ride it sedately then sure, it's like any other in-line four, smooth as silk. But, if you ride it with scant disregard for your licence, (or personal safety), then I can assure you that you will experience the true character of this awesome bike. Each to their own as usual though. Have fun.

At a test event organized by Kawasaki I rode the Z900RS and the W800 and I liked the W800 so much more. But I don't care about horsepower, my 1956 BMW R50 only has 26hp and it is one of my favourite bikes.

You could also try the Z650RS if you don't need too much power. I like mine very much.

It has character because it's modeled after the 70s KZ900. It's an old man's crotch rocket with upright seating. And people that were around in the 70s and know the history of these bikes appreciate it.

yep 120 mph death wobble, Lol, you can do 190 on a zx 14 smoothly with actually no fear but that 120 mph death wobblw will make your butt hole pucker, Lol.

The idea of character is a very powerful idea, I’ve had lots of so called characterful bikes, such as Nortons, Bonnevilles, V7 Guzzi, BMW r1200 and older twins. All have some great characteristics and some had flaws which ruined the owning and riding experience. I have as my day to day bike a Honda CB 500x and this bike was never thought of as a characterful bike. But the more I ride it , the more trips I do, the more I love it and respect it. It’s just so competent and it starts every time, its performance is good and consistent, it’s high quality in build, it’s economical etc etc. These are characteristics that make it great to ride and own. Character. I desperately need a Kawasaki Z900 RS to complete the picture in my garage, however. One day soon.

Rode it and a short demo ride and it was fun. Offers a lot of comfort, but the throttle was a bit too snatchy, otherwise... the one to buy. I am now sure if they fixed it or not. I agree about being the best looking in the todays "Retro world". :) Another great video Andy.

Well, I would call it civilized character. I grew up riding the CB series of Honda's where bike mods were common. Listening to those 4 cylinders growl through a long set of near straight pipe turn outs was nirvana for me. The excitement for me has always started at the first press of the starter. Listening to a 4 cylinder start and run is pleasing. I have had Harley's and BMW's and have a Triumph in the garage. But I have never lost appreciation of the standard 4 and have watched your videos of the Kawaski with great interest.

Your comment on the comfort chimed with me. I'm quite tall with a dodgy back and on most naked bikes I'm crippled after a couple of hours in the saddle. Give me a big adventure bike and I can ride all-day. However, although I haven't ridden the Z900, when I sat on one in the showroom, the upright riding position with wide bars made me feel instantly at home. If I ever have the luxury of getting a naked retro it would be a contender 😊

Agreed with everything you said Andy apart from the character. I think it’s got loads, unless you mean the vibrations of a twin cylinder motorcycle! I love mine as it never fails to make me smile! My Multistrada V2 has the sort of character that I think you mean, which is lovely as well.

The retro look is absolutely brilliant and spot on. I think if you want a bike that is kind of like the Swiss army knife of motorcycles, you got a good choice in that Kawasaki. If you just want to go run some curvy roads or do some touring, the Kawasaki 900 will do it all. I think Kawasaki 4 cylinder engines are just absolutely amazing and so smooth. Great video sir

Great review again,I owned a kh 250 triple then an original z900 back in the 80’s ,after having owned a r ninet over the last 5 years thought it might be nice to have a change so I tried a bike like yours last year as I’ve always had a soft spot for Kawasaki I liked the bike but it didn’t grab me due to lack of character,so stuck with my r ninet until I test rode the r12 ninet and was blown away,my order is in.!

Agree with you completely, I have a 19 plate Jaffa Z900RS and love it, I did change the front sprocket up by 1 tooth to make the ride much more relaxed, there's going to be a meeting for the marque in Brackley on the 20th July at the Stratton Arms if your around.

Passed my test 6 years ago and always loved the style of this bike..I'm a supersport lover at the moment but would love this as a second bike for lazy Sunday rides..maybe in the future

As usual a very good and insightful video. Always enjoy them. I love the Z900RS and probably be my next bike, perhaps with some add ons to expand its touring capabilities. I would like to hear what your missus has to say in the pillon department. For me, it was the bike to have when growing up - I'm from 1959 - but the money was never there. Now my take on "character". I use quotations simply because it means many things to many people, and the word has been used and abused to the point that is at best a catch phrase, at worst meaningless. A Triumph has it, but a Kawa doesn't , why? Because one vibrate somewhat and the other doesn't? Because it brings back nostalgic memories of a better past? Etc. It reminds me of a non definition of pornography by supreme court judge Potter Stewart in 1964 "I know it when I see it". Great! So, in one stroke he became the unquestionable master of the subject. Brilliant! A bit of history. Character was not mentioned very much in the 50's or before. It started to be used in motorcycle magazines by British and Italian bike manufacturers, less by Germans, when the japanese bikes began their invasion in the 60's. Coincidence? or perhaps the only available defense against superior products at cheaper price. A modern analogy would be expensive swiss watches. Who needs them when a Casio would do and everyone has a phone? But back then it was worse, much worse. Because the swiss watch works, and very well, but those bikes were crappy compared to the reliabilities and performance - except in handling until the japs fixed that as well - of the oriental siblings. Most European makers in the 60's were stated subsidised enterprises keeping employment numbers looking good but without the real capability to compete with the rising sun machines. So, not a nice way to plant the seed of "Character" as something special that only the true "connoisseur" can appreciate. Even wine tasting has a more comprehensive list of qualities before giving the nod. Even though at the end ALL that matter is if you like it or not, just as with motorcycles. The rest is just plain marketing bollocks to sound fancy and up the price.

Wow - thanks for taking the time to write that lot, interesting reading….

I've had mine (standard RS) for about 6 months now. The brakes are superb, and if you think the SE Brembo's are necessary, think again. The standard suspension is setup soft, and that suits my old back fine. There is plenty of adjustment if you wanted it firmer. The Ohlin's on the SE are probably slightly better, but at the expense of comfort. The engine is like a turbine (not in a bad way). It seems to pull the same almost regardless of what gear you are in, or revs you are at.

It's a beutiful bike Andy, comfort, performance, a proper head turner. A great review. If I had the spare green stuff it would be a defo second bike. Maybe one day 😊

Great video. I think it comes down to how you define character. In my mind it means how it makes one feel while riding. I often hear reviewers mentioning how a BMW boxer or Moto Guzzi kicks to the side on firing up and how this gives them character. The Kawasaki seems to be much more original in appearance than many of the other manufacturers retro bikes. Loving the way the bike rides and looks does not seem to square with it lacking character. I think when it comes to a subjective thing like character it comes down to ones personal feelings and perhaps even bias. Personally love the bike.

Just come back home from a good lil trip out on my SE. Its my first proper trip out due to work and weather and honestly if i wasnt up early tomorrow morning, id be heading out again. I had such good fun today. Never had a bike with Olins suspension on it but i can see why people rave about them. Super smooth and brings a good giggle in the corners doesnt it. For the first time in 12 years of riding, i think ill be keeping this one

Back in the day the Honda VFR750 was regarded by many as ‘the best motorcycle in the world’ despite having no character.

The original Z1 was what made me fall for the brand in the seventies, my first one was a 100cc used one and the Z1 was the dream. Never to be, it was just too expensive for a young man. Now as an old geezer I´m quite happy with my old Vulcan but if I were 10-15 years younger I would get one of these new ones, propably the model in this video. Have a good season, and keep it upright!

Hi Andy, I do like the looks of the bike a lot. It always takes me back to when I first a z900 in late ‘72, I was totally gobsmacked! It looked so awesome and sounded so sleek and sophisticated compared to the old Brit bikes. I had the z900 and z1000mk2. But yes have to agree about the character of boxer twins etc. I had a Royal Enfield 250 was huge fun too.

2020 Cafe here. Green and Black. Changed to standard bars, added Ohlins rear shock and Delkevic Headers. Now I have the perfect bike.

Hi Andy, Yes, we’re growing old and we want comfort. I want to sit a bit more upright, windshield, nice suspension, easy handling and luggage capacity. I like this bike’s specifications and looks. The things I miss here is that windshield. A bike that has character usually means that it has its quirkiness and that usually means less comfort. Tomorrow, at last we hopefully have a few hours of nice weather and then I’m going to have my first ride of the year. I wasn’t able to ride earlier due to weather and heavy side effects of Statines/Statins; too much pain. Those problems have been solved for the moment so hooray 🏍️🏍️

As a very happy owner of this bike I couldn't agree more!! I have the 23 model in Black/Red. Great performance, great looks and amazing sound!! Only 'major' change I'm making to mine is putting on a set of Rizoma race retro bars just to lower my arms and body a smidge. Coming from a 2015 Thruxton I got used to the leant forward riding position. I got the RS due to it being more upright and that's what I wanted, however since making the change I have felt like I don't have as much control of the bike, particularly in corners! Funny what you learn after a change haha

I did get to borrow a Z650rs whilst my bike was in for a service and I have to say I hated it and that was all down to the vibes from the parallel twin engine (the bike looked lovely but was not a pleasant ride), that's why I think the Z900 is the perfect retro bike at the mo.....

For good looks as well as character and beautiful sound, you can not go wrong with a BMW R nineT. But all retro bikes are my cup of tea and this Kawa is high on my list. Enjoy!

Was just about to chime in with this but didn't want to sound like I'm bagging the Kwaka which is overall a beautiful bike. The R nine T has that engine as well as the looks.

Got the cafe' version. Amazing looks, comfort and performance.

I got the z900 yellow ball! Love it. The looks and performance are amazing!

Very honest assessment ..bravo ... It's a common trait with 4 cylinder bikes in my opinion ( to be specific inline 4's) they just don't give the visceral feedback that a motorcycle needs ....

My Multistrada V4S is my perfect bike. Was my dream bike and now lucky to own one. It just does anything and everything you want it to do and such a lovely bike to ride.

I think for me it reminds me of my gpz900,sounds like goes like etc but modern & comfy too. & Every ride makes me smile . We've all got favourites 👍

I earned a gpz 900 back in the days too. I can not see a little similarty of these 2 bikes. Gpz 900 was a great sportbike, with aggressive driver positioning, lot more weight on the front-tire, not comfortable but stable like a tank on speed over 200km/h (German Autobahn). I loved her so much!

@@TheMissendenFlyer thank you. Last night I finally got time to take it out for a spin. The odo shows “0”. and trip says .6. I noticed the initial rev is kinda all over the place. Being new to it and tires are freaking not worn in. I took it easy on it. Is getting an ecu flashed the way to go? My list of rides includes a GS and several Ducati’s so narrow power band and high rev/ violent acceleration don’t bother me but this one is out of sync with my wrist.

In Japan, z900RS has won the sales championship of large motorcycles every year since it was launched in 2018. To be able to achieve such results in Japan, a big country of motorcycles, Kawasaki must have done something right!

Fabulously capable bike Andy. I love the looks and though I’m not an in line 4 fan ( any more) I really do like this. As a few below have asked … what are the screen options ? Gorgeous bike.

Tuned in later today than usual. While enjoying the video and commentary, I somewhat think that my favorite bike is always the one I'm currently riding. With 5 very different bikes (size, comfort, #of cylinders) I love them all over riding in my car. Mostly rain and close to freezing temperatures will mean the car will be getting my bum around for the next week. SPRING, please come back.!!! LOL. 👍👍5🏍🙋‍♂️

Beautiful looking bike. Was always wondering why they fitted a cable operated clutch rather than hydraulic..? Really fancy getting a test ride on one to see if they ride as good as they look! Great video..!

Nice review of the Z900RS, keep up the good work. I did a test ride on one a few years ago, it reminded me of my ZRX1100 I currently ride. I would disagree with you about the bike lacking character. Speaking for myself, who grew up on Japanese 4 cylinder machines, the smoothness is a quality I like. A few aftermarket parts could change the inline four's personality to something you might find more to your liking.

I didn't know anything about the z900, and when I was visiting the dealer a couple of weeks ago, they had a Kawasaki Z900 under the lights, and I must say, pictures do not do it justice, it really is a handsome bike. And the details of the bike were top notch, very well appointed.

Perhaps the character aspect comes down to being a 4, not a twin. But I agree - as I think nearly everyone does these days - horsepower by no means the most important part of enjoying a bike. 109 is more than plenty. And I also agree about the looks - it is just a very beautiful bike. I wish the clocks on my bike were as beautiful as those.

The Z900RS is certainly a lovely bike. I’ve been so close to getting one a couple of times, just never did it. I went with a Speed Twin for while, and now I’ve got an RNineT. I still might end up with the Kawasaki though. Thanks for the video!

I had a Z900RS for four years and tried to love it but just couldn't get on with it so sold it. I found the bike to be the most uncomfortable bike to ride that I have ever owned and I have had around 50 bikes. within half an hour I started to ache and an hour was the max I could ride the bike without stopping. I changed the seat, lowered and then raised the handlebars but just could not get comfortable. The snatchy throttle on my bike was terrible so I removed the O2 sensor and that made a big difference but it still was a little snatchy, the clocks and the headlight are cheap plastic so I didn't like those, but I really liked the overall look of the bike and the power of the engine was very good. This is obviously just my opinion but I think the RS is a average bike with nothing really to make it stick out from the crowd apart from the looks of the bike. I do think though that it's the nicest looking retro on the market today but as I said it just wasn't for me.

The Z900 was a winner in the looks department and this is SO based on the original it was bound to win!

I sat on one recently at a dealership. I was very impressed. Felt like a lovely place to be. Then I sat on an Indian FTR. Cwooaar! Loved that as well. Take my money!!

So glad we have so much choice, and happy for you in finding your goldilocks.

I think the z900rs se is an awesome bike would definitely love one in my garage, only negative I wish they had hidden the radiator more in a way like your speed twin. Cheers Andy

I was after an old school retro inline four! I rode the Z900rs and loved it, it is a great bike! However I felt the look was spoiled by the rear mono shock suspension, although it works great it just doesn’t look right on a retro! I bought a Honda CB1100ex in the end which has twin rear shocks and looks the business, real retro styling and still works really well for the type of riding I do. Keep riding safe

It’s a retro in styling only. It’s a Z900 in a different frock.

My old Z900RS Cafe in green was the best version made, what a looker!

Interesting to hear your views on the Z900RS SE. I really thought about getting one of these a couple of years ago as I was learning to ride, and I've always wondered 'what if' since, as they're a stunning looking bike especially in SE trim. I opted in the end for a 2015 Monster 821 which was joined by a 2014 Multistrada 1200 six months ago. The Monster fills the role the Z900RS would have for me, occasionally I think about trading but one of the things I love about the Ducs are the character and the L twin engine - which of course would be missing if I swapped the Monster for the Z! I guess the grass ain't necessarily greener...

Yes the monster is a great choice - if I sold this, that's probably what I'd get to replace it.

I bought my standard Z900 in January 2024 and have covered 850 miles so far. To buy it I traded in my beautiful Honda CB1100, a bike I loved but was just too heavy for me. I have found the Z900 has lots of pros and cons: Cons The amount of things you have to buy which I think should be standard, such as centre stand, radiator guard, fender extender, grab handles Seat height, the rear section is quite high and makes getting on quite difficult with my 29” legs Snatchy throttle Low gearing, lots of people are changing their sprockets to make up for this Pros Great handling Bags of power Great looks Nice clocks and dash Relatively light Lovely gearbox Overall despite the cons I am really enjoying the bike especially the power from that great engine

I just had to subscribe to you as a result of watching this 👍🏼 I recently worked on some headlights for a lovely chap who owned exactly the same bike in amongst a few other fine bikes and cars. As soon as he showed me it sat in his garage I fell in love with it on the looks alone. I've been out of the loop with bikes for many years, but would like to think I might be able to afford one again...one day 🤞🏼 Having seen your great review on this beast, I reckon this is now top of my test rides list. Oh and by the way, did I hear your correctly at the end of the video, when you said this bike has absolute NO character, or was I confused/mistaken?All the best, Mark.

I bought mine in2018 and still have it. An ex colleague bought the same model as yours last summer. He only put 45 miles on it before deciding that it didn't float his boat. as he's selling it for £3k under list, I'm selling mine and buying his. Too good an opportunity to pass up.

I have one in brown orange color - totally agreed . it's a perfect bike.

Tried one a few days ago but it didn’t click for me. Great engine but under geared, suspension harsh on our terrible urban roads, great brakes, good handling, seat was uncomfortable but I think easily improved. Nice looking bike

The Z900 RS SE looks gorgeous, however I get your point about a 'lack of character' or 'involvement' in the riding experience. I owned a Yamaha 1000 Fazer that performed faultlessly, commuting, touring, Sunday scratching around country lanes, and motorway blasts, yet lacked 'character'. As I say I could not fault it at all in any way, and I wouldn't have wished for it to develop foibles, but I had more fun riding less refined motorcycles.

I feel that way about my Z900 SE. It is basically a perfect motorcycle. Does exactly what I want without drama. The only way to get satisfaction out of that flawless machine is to go fast. Or perhaps put on loud pipes and be obnoxious. I may trade it for something more involving for the daily ride. Probably a Triumph T100 or Speedmaster.

It is a lovely looking machine. It was Kawasaki that made me fall in love with naked bikes until i got knocked if it and broke my wrist, it was the Z400J an in line four with only 45 hp, loved it for just pottering about.

I've owned the Z1, The Zephyr 1100 and I've also ridden the new z900. I had to heavily modified all those bikes to make them happy. But now that I own the speed twin and I've done some mods on that I think it's heads and shoulders Above the Rest. The motor is comparable to anything Ducati has built. My last bike was an mt-09 it was pretty sweet but a herky-jerky throttle and the suspension needed upgrading which I did now it's all stock on the latest model 😮

Hi folks, I brought a Z900rs secial edition paint job at Via moto Clay Cross, a beautiful bike in every way, but as you said character less. I part chopped it for a speed twin. There are days when I regret it as a stupid thing to do, but for me, a motorcycle needs character over just looking pretty.

I have the Cafe version. Did a Brocks exhaust, ECU flash, filter and velocity stacks. Woke the bike up and made it a little more rowdy. Much more exciting than the stock bike. Also did sticky Bridgestone tires and EBC brake pads. Its such a fun bike! IMHO you can't really leave these bikes stock for long, they need uncorked .

I think it’s absolutely stunning, by far the best looking of this genre IMO. And only an owner/rider could comment on “character” so thanks for the overview Andy. However, it’s hard to see it’s worth nearly three brand new interceptors?

Well that’s true! Though the quality of the Kwak far outstrips the Enfield….

As a previous owner of several Japanese inline fours they can appear 'characterless' but infact have a character of their own. They are completely different to the Speedtwin 900 which has replaced them recently and oozes that certain something that puts a smile on my face everything I ride it. I sold a Mazda MX5 recently which performed perfectly but characterlessly( it didn't cost me a cent other than routine servicing) but I really wish I had bought the classic MG that I really wanted which was full of character but less reliable....

I love my z900rs it does have character, but in a different way to a V-twin or parallel rwin. The easy going nature may make it seem bland compared to a speed twin, but I think easy and accessible performance is never a bad thing.

I own the metallic dark green one , or simply British Racing, from the year 2022. It's a truly beautiful bike with absolutely fantastic performance in every aspect. I am 35 years old, switched from a supersportbike, and I never miss the performance, it's always there. Anyone considering buying it should just take a test ride, and you'll understand everything. Wishing everyone a great 2024 season.

Wow, that's a hell of a lot of comments for a video that's just three hours old. Having just bought a gorgeous '22-plate green/silver version, I am a little biased but agree with most of the plus-points you raise, but the ''character'' question (which has stirred up so many people) is such a hard one to quantify and I doubt there would be many people on here who would be able to define it in such a way that would meet with everyone's approval. But it would be worth trying (with the caveat that it is just your view - as it is with the looks of any bike) to make clear what ''character'' means to you. Often it is likely to be a gut feeling (so, so personal) and that cannot be argued with. But I find my Z900RS to have an urgent 'ride-me-hard' character, and I just love the way you can blast out of a corner or hit a straight and whip through the gears to feed in the acceleration and enjoy that burst of speed. That is character for me. It has a nice sound (even stock) which gives it character as well. So I am loving mt Z900RS after three weeks and it is going to be a keeper. Are you suffering with the notoriously bad-fuelling on your SE? (although this seems to have got better and is not always a big issue for everyone). Mine has it and I am willing to invest in an ECU flash to remove the jerkiness mid-corner, which is unsettling. You can ride around it in town, just by being thoughtful with the throttle, but when you are having fun in the twisties, there are other things to be concentrating on rather than whether there will be a jerk as you throttle on.

Character? Yes, I'd say so; smooth and refined, and sounds good for an inline 4. I've just bought one, a nice contrast to my Guzzi V85TT.

all depends on what you mean by character, I would say it has lots of smooth character😉
