Kawasaki Z900 Dyno | Rapid Bike EVO | SC Project

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today finally got the 2017 Z900 on the dyno.
HP - 112.06
Tq Ft/lbs - 63.2
Adjusted for correction
HP - 130
Tq fr/lbs - 72.5
This is with running rapid bikes EVO tuning solution, arrow racing headers, and sc project exhaust.
Adding air filter soon.
Main things that made a HUGE improvement and should help get more power than the posted numbers was:
Blocking air injection
And correcting Rapid bikes bad instructions for the TPS wire tap, which caused it to read 100% throttle signal at all times

Hi also have a rapidbike evo on my ktm and am really happy with it. Im going to put in on the dyno soon to see if the A/F ratio it is aiming for on the autotune is correct. I was told sometimes you may have to tweak this to get it running even better. Did the figure it aiming for on the software correspond with the correct A/F reading from the dyno run?? Cheers

Nothing wrong with the way it was tuned. It's an Eddy current Dyno they sound like torturing the engine but it's the way to go. And the tuner was tuning throttle opening percentages

What is the correction for exactly? If the dyno read 112 to the wheels in SAE then that would be the power output. 15% addition would be crank hp correct? The shorty is probably not helping power either..

Hey Bam. Quick question for you. I too have a 2017 Kawasaki z900 and I just recently received my SC-Project Exhaust S1 slip-on like yours in the mail and installed it. I plan on going to an exhaust shop and having a mid-pipe fabricated to removed the bread box and get some more sound of it. At some point I will do headers but for now this seems like a good solution. Any idea how much your header install cost or did you do it yourself? Thanks in advance! Also I highly recommend the OEM windscreen from Kawasaki. I got it and it makes the bike (in my opinion) look a lot more finished off at the top-front but it also really helps with the wind.

  • @BamAustian

    @BamAustian

    6 жыл бұрын

Michael, A lot of people are going the same exact route and just having a mid pipe fabricated. It's cheaper and gets you probably really close to benefit of full headers. Over on the Z900 forums I have a full write up of the install of the headers. I did do them myself, so I was just out the cost of the headers. It really was not that bad at all. Just need basic tools, really.

ProfabDesigns Inc. Luckily for me Texas is safety, no emissions. The cafe is going to be sweet!!! I got my dealer to loop me in as soon as they have a date for delivery. I would say for the cafe... a slip on will prop have tad deeper sound and look different. That’s prob it. The cat/bread box on these bikes is huge and suppresses the sound greatly

Bam Austin is one of the first to modify his bike this extensively as they are new to the market and he has nice results. I own one as well and would be afraid to touch it because the fueling is so smooth on this bike and I value that over more power. But by his results it looks like it's still smooth throttle plus he has more power, so that's a win.

the bike is clearly strapped down at the foot pegs which puts load on the suspension just as if he was sitting on it. Maybe you can argue that he didn't strap it down enough, but you can't say you are required to sit on the bike, not on this setup at least . I would do the same, the bike is taken appart, why sit one someone's wiring harness or power commander and risk breaking the connectors.
