Kawasaki Versys 650 VS Triumph Tiger Sport 660 | Adventure Tourer Shootout | Comparison

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Adventure motorcycles are quite capable and versatile. Given our Indian road conditions, they seem like the apt choice but what if you're in the market for something a bit more premium? Here are two entry-level premium adventure tourers that promise both accessibility and versatility.

    Very insightful and practical comparision. The Versys 650 (2020) had a very hard/clunky gearbox and it bothered me a lot - I'm glad I sold it! The lack of a slipper/assist clutch made the clutch quite stiff and long drives caused some discomfort in the left hand palm.

    Proud owner of the Tiger sport 660. 13K km in a few months thro the twisty, scenic mountains of northern Thailand, and you will know the wonder that this tiger cub is. A feeling of pure Triumph indeed, and not matched by any other in this category.

    How’s d after sales service? Cost of spares n parts? Ride credibility of the machine on bad roads?

  • @pankajkusanale93
    @pankajkusanale93 Жыл бұрын

    Kawasaki after sale service issues Parts availability (long waiting) Service intervals (every 6k) Service cost( 8k onwards) Tiger sport 660 Parts availability ( available on spot n if not less waiting period) Servicer interval( for every 16k km or once a year ) Service cost (7k onwards) Versys has less purchasing cost but eventually it wil cost the same as Tiger with mentainance included. Tiger on ther hand has more power n linear delivery n feels like sports bike on longer travel suspension and it will keep you engaging n exited while versys is good tourer n with good tech but that engine and exhaust note won't push your adrenaline and it's too heavy. I took a test drive of both few days ago and it's the Tiger which was very nimble n agile in stop n go traffic and that inline engine rumble with base exhaust note keeps eyes turning. Versys is great bike in segment but it's bit towards boring side which couldn't meet my taste. I have booked tiger but only issue is the waiting period here in bangalore which is upto 8months while versys is available on spot for green color while there is slight waiting period of 2 months for new grey paint scheme!

    A very important point mentioned while buying a motorcycle. I had my eye on Moto Morini xcape 650 as I felt Versys 650 is dated and Tiger is a bit high on the budget. But then I watched a video where the owner mentioned that the service intervals are at 4000 kms, with no free service and the service cost ranging upto 7k to 10k. I think Moto Morini will dig their own grave. I feel there should be just once service in a year.

    12:38 If shifting gears on your motorcycle is difficult ; #1 - Make sure that your clutch cable is adjusted correctly, with enough pulling action, and (NOT too much pull). #2 - Disassemble your foot shifting lever. Grease the pin. Reassemble.

    Hi TopGear Mag India, Service interval for Kawasaki Versys 650 is every 6000kms and for Triumph Tiger its 16000kms not the one you displayed. I watched another video from your channel for KTM adv 390x and information provided in that video is also wrong. For instance - you guys have mentioned it does Not come with slipper clutch. Request your team to do your home work then make videos.

    At the moment i am riding a Triumph Trident. Looking for a more practical motor i tried the tiger 660, like the Trident it reves verry high on the higHway at the stopping light i put it in second gear because first gear is ultra short. Also tried an used tiger 800 it drives more relaxed on the highway (lower rpm) and feels more mature. Have to try a tiger 850 , maybe that is the best choice.

    Just counting the number of times you say "However" Not that it affects the review but just gets irritating and predictive after a few minutes in the video. @@GavinRodrigues haha! It's just my observation. We watch a lot of vlogs and most of the Indian vloggers are using the same language, style and technique. Hence, it's very predictive. Try to keep it simple, more people focused than metrics. My intention to watch this video was to understand the real life usage and difference between these two bikes. Not really interested in knowing the technical metrics and maths, but what impact will they have in general riding conditions. Most of the metrics and calculations are part of redundant information, makes video less informative and not much useful to be honest. :)

    Triumph all the way. Just the better bike. Come on now, the Tiger is just more beautiful and sexy and sporty looking. So, if were doing this as a street bike, The Tiger out performs, with HP and handling. The versy is an OFF road bike...The tiger is not made to go off road, like the Vstrom. But the Tiger is a street sport tour bike. Sorry, but this guy just has no taste. The kawy does not look better, but looks too chunky up front and as it has an aftermarket front end. He is a nut; the windscreen is 'on the fly'. Ya need tools to move the Kawy screen. The screen needs to be snug, so it wont faulter. Oh come on now! the engine heat is not any more than any other bike. He has too many 'however's' to try and make the versy sound good, or better, where it actually sux!. He is full of it. the Tiger is MADE to be a highway bike and the chassis and suspension and agility and fairing are "tuned for that." The versy is leaning more on its off road compliance. The suspension on the Tiger is optimal for a STREET bike. The versy is tuned for off road, so its not a comparison. The triple and torque range is not for a racer, but for highway cruising and it has that upper margin for brisk and confident acceleration. The kawy lacks HP and or is more geared for the off road torque bands. This dude does not know what her is talking about. Now listening to this guy, he is all over the place. Ive had Kawys before and suzys, but this Tiger is the better of them. Though he complains about the tigers price, he forgets to say what you are getting for those few extra bucks. Better, everything! He cant compare an off road suspension theory for a street bikes! but then he starts complaining about the versy. Ok Now yes, Tiger is sportier in sound. So he got that right. The tiger screen and controls look slicker, and not like a kids toy like they do on the kawy, The Tiger has a shift light! He need to find it on the controls. Over all, he had to bite the bullet and admit that the Tiger is the Superior Ride. I should know! I own a 22 red tiger! :)
