Would this be the same setup and servicing as a 2020 Kawasaki KRX 1000?

Hey! No a 1000 has a different clutch system.

i just removed a secondary clutch from a 2017 and the rollers are protruding inside causing making it a bear to remove from the input shaft. now the rollers are preventing it from going back on the input shaft. do you know what could be causing the rollers to go too far inside? i have not disassembled it yet as i dont have a compressor yet

Hey! There is actually nothing keeping the rollers in place that's why I use grease to put them back in. it lubricates them but also keeps them in place long enough to put the clutch back on. If they are excessively loose while the clutch is still under tension from the spring it could be an indication of wear.

@@inspencersgarage8254 thanks for the reply. I got bigger problems now. I made a compression tool and disassembled. I think it was just the old grease all gummed up behind the rollers. I cleaned it up and assembled with grease. Installed with a new belt and it went less than a half mile and the outer sheave broke in two. Any thoughts why it might have broke? I had to use a puller to remove it but didn't pull on the outside of the sheave.

@@Eric-fq5wx Oh man that sucks! I have run into this when I was working for a Kawasaki dealer. What had happened then was the customer used the wrong size screws in the two holes on the front, stressed the metal as its thin there are then the clutch left the chat! If your clutch broke across the two holes there may have been too much stress put there when you pulled it. You can pull them, as I have, (a harmonic balancer style grip puller works best) how ever the holes are really there just to spread the clutch when your reinstalling it.

@@inspencersgarage8254 it didn't break at the holes. About a third of it broke off. I used the correct screws as I have changed the belt on this unit 4 or 5 times throughout its life. I did use the spreader bolts to pull from but it didn't take much pressure to pull it. Do you know if the clutch pieces are available separately or as an assembly?

@@Eric-fq5wx Yes I think you can get the sheaves separately but depending on how many hours the unit has and seeing as there was a failure in part of the clutch already it might be a good idea to get a new clutch. A bit more upfront but possibly less of a headache down the road.
