Yeah it sure does.
Your so right I had a 88 Quad Racer 250 and my buddy had the T4 and the Suzuki handled much better. He sold his T4 and got a Suzuki. I agree the T4 was the best looker. Jacks a good kid and lucky to have a awesome dad. Make those good memories and thanks.

Really?
I've got an 88 T4. I agree with your assessment of the stock machine, weird front end, too tall, etc. I've made a few mods to mine to make it better, extended axle, 300 big bore, bigger carb, aftermarket pipe. My next mod is wider a-arms. She rips now and it's much more stable. I love vintage machines despite their flaws. Part of the fun is fixing them up.

Yeah it's strange they even approved the design for production. But yet it's still a cool machine.

What kind of a-arms you using?

@@jamesbolton2463 I haven't bought them yet--still trying to decide. Only 2 companies I know of still makes them. HREatv makes them closer to the gullwing design of the 88, but they also do straight like the 87. And Full Flight also makes them straight like the 87.
Congrats on another mean looking super-rare 2-stroke! After you get a TRX250R, you will own a very nice representative of every single classic 2-stroke ATV ever made. I like how you keep all of your classics looking original and still ride them.

thanks Cobra, at this point I don't think it makes much sense to modify them. They just aren't worth as much that way!

@@TheMapleDude1 Agreed. Whenever I look for classic ATVs or cars/trucks, I want them as original looking as possible. I guess you could always get an extra machine just to modify. Thanks for keeping them alive as we remember them!

@@cheeriosc420YT Very cool and arguably the two most aggressive-looking quads. They are great investments that will only go up in value.
T4's seemed to be better for larger framed riders. Back in 86, 87, 88, and 89, a friend and I raced MX and XC for a local Honda/Kawi dealership, I got the 250R and he got the T4. Both were great machines but the T4 needed more mods to be competitive. He was a larger rider (mostly taller) and said he always felt "cramped" riding my 250R. When I rode his T4, I always felt like I sat higher and was top heavy. Sure made for some great memories to reflect on nowadays especially running the Blackwater 100.

I agree I feel cramped on the 250r, it seems like it's made for someone like 5ft 8in. But tecate just really unstable.
I like the look of them to

The Mug has great food. Love it there. Good to see the Tecate still hitting the trails. I wish I still had mine.

Nice vid,i have a 88 in Northern wi,extended rear axle and wider a-arns make a big difference, the Klemms pipe is rare these days and brings in big bucks!
