Kawasaki ninja 250R-clutch release lever can't work correctly

SOLVED: For issues with the clutch pack not engaging after installing new plates and springs, the steel clutch cover that goes on after the clutch pack is installed and before the springs are installed needs to be rotated 90 degrees. When you do this, it will seat 1-2mm deeper on the pack. Once this is done, when you pull on the pull rod that's in the center of the clutch, it will also pull the entire clutch pack toward you. That's how you know the cover is installed correctly. Lastly, the pull rod has to go on before the bearing and clutch cover are installed. My buddy and I spent 12 hours troubleshooting this problem and this was the solution. Good luck!

Take your clutch cover off and make sure your clutch basket rod isnt broke or bent if is replace it if not u proble got it lined up wrong

I’ve been trying to find a spring but none of the diagrams show it

John Lawrentz just checked it out and those don’t have a spring. Best bet is to pull that rod up(the one in the video) and check it for any wear. Also open the clutch cover and look at the rod in the center of the clutch basket as well. It could be worn or bent. I have a 2005 z750s so my issue was a missing spring. The rod fell straight down and wasn’t aligning with the rod in the clutch basket.
