Thank you for the KX85 rebuild series. They were a HUGE help in rebuilding the “only needs a top end” KX85 I bought for my son (spoiler: it needed a lot more than a “top end”). My first ever engine rebuild and it went surprisingly well.

I put a new piston in my kx85 however the power valve is catching on my piston. Plus the piston I bought my jug will not go bk on because it's like the ring's are to big

Just did this and installed the cylinder before lining up the power valve shaft. Appears it has to come back off to line up. I can’t get the angle with the cylinder on

I’ve never rebuilt any type of motor in my life… however, I have a kx 85 that’s been sitting for like 3-4 years and I’m well aware it needs a new top end. My dad rebuilt it the first time and he’s not around right now so I want to try and do it myself is there anything I should and should not do ?? I need tips I want to ride the bike again. Thank you

Thanks, I enjoyed watching the video. I have a question, when should I move to a larger piston, and is there any work I can do about increasing the cylinder gap? I have a Kawasaki KX100 2013 bike. The piston gap now is 52.52 mm, and the service limits are 52.60, since I rebuilt it. piston and piston ring stand, and the pressure was 75 psi, and it is supposed to be between 119-180 psi, i.e. directives in this matter to gain high pressure in the engine

It sounds like you may need to measure your cylinder and order the next size up piston. Piston manufacturers will have many different sized pistons so you can get the one that matches your cylinder diameter appropriately.
