Kawasaki H2R vs Lamborghini Huracan Turbo | Carwow Drag Race

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The guys from Carwow gave us a call for a drag race, we knew they'd bring something fast so we had only one option, the Kawasaki H2R. This is the bike that's been used for all those dyno runs you've seen on here, it's been around the TT with James Hillier and we even used it 6 years ago on our Nissan GTR race. We were originally due to race a crazy fast Nissan GTR, that broke before we had chance so out came the twin turbo 1100 hp Lamborghini Huracan. We hope you enjoy our behind the scenes look at one of the best days we've ever had. #carwow #bikevscar #dragrace

    The problem with the H2R or even with the H2 in a drag race is that you can't have full control over its power if you have a stock swing arm. Its body is too small to handle such incredible power of it engine. Get a 12-inch extended swing arm and let's see how powerful that beast is.

    I think that it will need a holeshot system similar to what is used in MotoGP, lowering the cg. It could get much better results. Awesome video. Greetings from a Brazilian subscriber.

    Nope just change gearing in H2R it would be fastest bike ever longer first gear no wheelies off the line Short 2nd 3rd for crazy acceleration 4th should be in middle to keep constant acceleration Longer 5th 6th gears for top end acceleration and never lose to any car

    Car quicker off the line, bike quicker once rolling. Matter of grip. Bike = Skill, car = child's play. Simples

  • @rapido4665

    @rapido4665

    No, no, and no: its not about grip, but about what many people here write about; a way to keep the front wheel of the bike on the ground. A motorcycles geometry prevents it from getting off the line as fast as a fast car, because the wheel base is way too short on the bike.and the center of gravity is very high. If you apply full power at he start the bike will flip over. The car does not have this issue. This means that you will have to put a very long swing arm on the bike or a wheelie bar, but then you have also created a monstrosity that is unridable everywhere but on a drag strip. The same physics applies to braking; the short wheelbase of the bike will make it flip over the front wheel if you grab the brake lever too hard. This is why a F1 car is always very much faster around a track than a MotoGP bike, but it also makes bikes much more challenging and fun to ride.

    @@rapido4665 So putting down all the power on One wheel compared to four like most super/hyper cars doesn't count then ? You are partly right in my book fella. Bike is more fun and more skill required. A fat rich boy can be quick around a track with a car, not so on a bike.

    @@WolfgangVonKempelen838 Exactly; just look at the fastest accelerating cars and bikes; dragsters, they all have only rear wheel drive. Grip does not improve with more wheels or wider wheels, race cars have wide wheels because they last longer, more rubber takes longer to scrub off. If you did pay attention in school, you may remember that friction between two surfaces depends only on the friction coefficient of the surfaces, and the weight on them, not the size of said surfaces. If you encounter ice on the road, you dont put wider tires on your car, but tires with higher friction coefficient, or spikes.

    @@rapido4665 I haven't been to school but I see bikers coming off in races because the bike's front tyre lost grip. So yes it is not about grip is it ? Just friction indeed

    Surely holding it on the rear brake to get the boost up only works on a turbocharged bike, not a supercharged one? I recall having to do that on the 750 Turbo to get the boost up for overtakes, but on the H2 the boost is controlled by engine speed not exhaust gasses...

    I have a 20 ZX-14R, but I'm mostly a Mustang guy. I had a Novi Paxton 2000 supercharger back in the day, and have a Vortec now. I was wondering if the supercharger on the H2r will make more HP with a smaller pulley like the supercharged cars do to make more power. I never really looked at the internals of the supercharger on the H2r.

    I would love to ride the H2R, I have rode all kinds of bikes but none with that power to weight ratio, still my favorite bike that I owned was a 96' ZX7R, down on power by today's standards it was one of the best handling bikes of its era, if I was ever to purchase another bike it would be a ZX7R!
