Kawasaki Bayou KEF300 Recoil Starter, Fixing a Mechanical Quackery!
Ойын-сауық
In the quest of reviving the Kawasaki Bayou 300 2 x 4, I found the recoil starter needed its rope replaced and standing in the way of that task was that in a brilliant display of a mechanic's quackery, the center bolt was welded. In this video, the weld will be removed, the rope will be replaced, and the starter will be returned to a functional state!

Thanks for another video, glad you were able to get that weld out, lucky it didn't damage anything else being plastic, all the best to you and your loved ones

Hey Donald!!! Some of the amateur hacks scare me... Welding implies permanent, not something that will come apart again!!! Thanks for Ur kind words, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
Hey Hoss I surely do appreciate all tha videos you put out!!!! My hat's off & if I could shake ya hand I surely would as well. By far you break thangs down enuff to help someone that needs a little more know how than what they have!!!!! Thanks, George V.

Hey Upnorth Vlogs!!! It seems that atvs attracts some crazy witch craft... Metric bolts replaced with SAE, missing bolts, bent stuff, and welds.... All in a days work! Thanks for Ur info, understanding, watching, and commenting!!!
But they were able to weld, but not put a nut on a thread? Mysteries all around us!!!!!!!!

@@HarveySpooner Hoping for the best Harvey. Had 10 days without internet, no landline phone for a few days, and my old cell phone broke and no contact numbers could be saved. Shoot me a text with your name to my usual number and I'll send you a couple of pics.

Hey Ndafara!!! Getting these old atvs running and riding requires a stack of tasks to be completed.... Here was one, next is a carb hack.... Thanks for Ur kind words, encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!
I had to rebuild a Polaris one not long ago and what a nightmare. I had to piss with the spring under the plastic pulley as old one was broke and what a pain. I’m in the same boat as u with the rare ones as well. I have a Tri moto 200 from 83 that I need a recoil for and the want close to $300 for it. Can’t justify spending that for it.
