There a reason for that. The film keeps him separate from them as although he is part of the robbery he truly isnt a robber like they are, they rob because they hope to get rich, he drives to make a living. You will notice to that he is never shot in the same frame as them. Just another simple feature that makes Drive a classic movie

I get you and the only conclusion I can make is that with the lighting effect you cannot even see Driver's face in that frame, so in a way he isn't captured in the same frame. But in any event we can see the producer did deliberately try to keep him separate with the lack of conversation and the cinematography. Subtle things like this make this movie what it is

This whole movie was 80s vibe personified. Folks will know if they grew up in it... the music, the cars, the lack of smartphones/social media and zombies etc. Very special time, almost on par with the lucky gen' that were teens in the 50s. Have only recently caught DRIVE. Awesome movie and Ryan was perfect for the role, as he was with FIRST MAN.

we explored this movie 8 years later because that years we were enjoying the life

John Wick is a trained death machine that kills everyone on his way and etc. But damn, Driver is just scarier for some odd reason...

I love this whole vibe. The electro synth pop beat sound to this song is such a mood. It’s perfectly set against Ryan Gosling’s chill demeanor while he drives in the dark of the night. It just hits right. ❤

Darkness. One that is contagious and infectious. You hate it but it keeps pulling you back in, nobody wants to listen to you, nobody cares about you, and nobody likes you. Once you start realising and noticing those things- that's when the darkness swoops in and before you know it- you are broken, jaded and void of any emotion. This is the norm now, this is how life has become. But it doesn't have to be. I'm in a position mentally and emotionally where I can say that that Ryan Gosling from Drive is literally me. But I hope that changes for me and all the people struggling, idk how but I still have hope. Take care guys, we're gonna be fine.

Nothing beats the feeling of driving down twisting LA canyons to this song.

Amazing

This song generates in me such a conflicting set of emotions. There’s a deep intimacy in the chorus, talking to someone and showing they know them deeply, more so than anyone else, and is the type of sentiment you would want to say it to your partner but at the same time the vocal delivery, her voice, the melody and the sparseness of the music infuses a haunting sense of loneliness and isolation. And it’s ax if that intimacy, detachment and lamenting is urging you to accept that love and happiness is for other people but not you. To me it perfectly sums up The Driver. He can’t have what he wants, what he’s been missing, and must sacrifice his own dreams so that others thrive.

It actually has a sequel. My friend Jim wrote the original Drive novel. When he saw the movie at the Premier, he got the idea for a sequel novella called Driven.
