I was in sowene primary school in Taveta. I was in drama, sports,and choir. We sang this song in the choir and I was class six. In 1990. 2022 I am 43 but I have always remembered this song ,humming it even though I couldn't get the words right, I got the rhythm right! I miss my childhood. It was so bright and full of hope and big dreams! I am Grateful 🙏 for everything!

I was in Drama acting a role of an orphan with this song playing in the background, when I was done with tears in my eyes and the hall quite, the adjudicators wiping their tears too. Best Actor was mine before I left the stage.

This song reminded me of my English primary teacher. He used to be a choir master at Catholic Church, he took us to places in school due to his skills in interpretation of songs and his desire to seeus succed. Kenya music society should ensure this song and others by Mungano or Boniface Mganga are protected and generate income. The cover version of this song throughout the world by even famous Universities should show how valuable such works are today more than 30 years later.
