Because the track sounds too compressed. The bass needs to be double tracked, the tremble needs to be pulled out. That's the only thing wrong with it. Yeah . . . No. The lyrics, combined with imagery in the music video, indicate she's pointing out how privilege blinds people the things hurting others. The rich don't see what happens to the poor, white people aren't affected by the same problems as black people, etc. The people's identity is inherently placing them in a bubble, preventing them from experiencing the problems others suffer from, and giving them deniability when it comes to helping deal with those problems.

Most people think this song was hate towards a certain political party, but in reality, Katy is talking about how we always think of politics and how we argue and only stick to one side and never listen to the other side. It really makes me realize how easily people think that modern trends are so cool because of social media, when in reality the stuff people do today is pretty stupid. She sings about how we need to see the trouble coming. We are always divided, to a point where we have forgotten who we really are as humans, we don't see reality, we are just chained to the rhythm of popular people and trends.

Same here. I liked the music and the Music Video. I was also Writing an adventure story involving The Amusement Park, Oblivia and How this Song helped them snap out of the people's trance.
