Unless you are a swimmer or know someone who competes you have no idea how hard what she just did was or how hard they work every day. Her technique was flawless. That’s why she is so much better than most of the others. Just like Michael Phelps was.

Often times, when people say you never know what might happen, it's true; but if someone tells you that might beat her, it's just not remotely believable or possible. Just got done watching her at Stanford and she won the 1650m by 22 seconds. Of which, that girl who got 2nd place at Standford in that race is as fast if not faster than the people getting second at these Olympics who are competing against Katie. The person who lost this race did so by 27 seconds, a difference of 5 seconds. 5 seconds is more than what most anyone gives up in just 150m. Katie gained about 3 seconds for ever 150m over the 2nd place finisher in this race.

When I do the 1500, I lose count all the time, so I help myself keep count by alternating the 100’s with the flutter kick and the “sort of 2-beat kick” that she’s doing. I thought I was doing it wrong and then I saw her technique and thought.. okay I’m in good company. But er.. compared to her I’m like a row boat against a speed boat.

+atiboyful Ledecky is an extremely talented swimmer. Maybe she's bigger, but that doesn't mean much. It is not as if Ledecky is a one-shot-wonder. She has done this repeatedly. Someone better will always come along. Katie is proving herself better. That doesn't lessen Evans. Evans is still the fantastic swimmer she always was (in the eyes of history. I doubt she's still as fantastic physically as she was in her swimming prime.) If anything, it simply is an example of someone else continuing a fantastic legacy of proving all of the nay-sayers wrong when they say someone is too young.
