People who have power are, almost to a person, bad people. They don't understand that you need self-restraint. "If you are very strong, you must also be very kind", as Pippi Longstocking says. Positions of power tends to attract assholes who need to lord it over others in order to feel good about themselves. It's all about psychology. We had a couple of decades in the previous century where most people could rely on being treated, not as in Kafka's the Process, but as a person being presumed innocent and all their civil rights being respected. Unfortunately, most people thought this was a natural, given thing, and that they didn't need to fight to retain those hard-won rights when things began going downhill. Those days are long gone. Today, there are no laws, no rights, only the powerful and the powerless. The powerless are usually good people, and the powerful are usually very shitty people.

Loved this interview from start to finish having flowed KH's career from the outset. One of the things the media has always done is to build people up to pull them down again who do not toe the party line as Katie alluded to several times. Of course, anyone who is as outspoken and tells people to get off their backsides and live their lives which is pretty much KH's way would no doubt face a backlash. Also, anyone who has an opinion will encounter those with opposing views. I always viewed Katie as a modern-day pantomime character playing a part as opposed to ever beginning to feel long-term offended by opinions voiced by Katie that as a democratic society, Katie was free to voice. I never wanted her canceled as I always hoped she would tell us that she was simply doing get the job of presenting a counterargument. I do not doubt that Katie will find her way back into the media and very much look forward to her sharing these new chapters of her life. As with Marmite you like her or loath her safe in the knowledge that both are ok. Great interview

This lady needs her own radio show; she's far too talented and savy not ot have one. In the meatime, I follow her on the Tubes. Brilliant show. Thank you.

Great interview but I can`t reconcile Katie`s lack of tolerance for `rules & order` with her sorrow at missing out on an army officer career. It`s difficult to imagine someone less suited to a regimented life and maybe it`s a blessing (for her) that she wasn`t allowed to complete the Sandhurst passing-out parade. Totally agree with her on Ukraine and also Covid lockdown , so bravo for that stance Katie 😘

Katie this I loved and am saddened that we needed to KNOW you and what makes you tick. You have had such hard knocks and kept your private health and trauma a secret to the media - to your army officer training to everything you’ve done - you owned your body and it’s failings and got on with it. I have done the 180 for you that I have come to know and before hearing about this your epilepsy story. I had to hear about A Tates childhood to understand what made him - I do like some of what he says BUT better men have said it for years. I don’t respect Tate and that’s the difference - I respect you Katie. Perhaps after the big G gets out he will have the same change - maturity.

I’ve always had a love hate relationship with the person that is Katie Hopkins. I share her views on many things, not all by far, but many. For instance, her take on the world’s elite essentially gradually taking over and wanting to nefariously control the civilised world by force, blackmail and the threat of losing your personal liberties is quite possibly exactly what is happening, and I’m glad she’s shouting it from the rooftops. On the flip side, as a for instance, her view that fat people are lazy is obviously an Inaccurate generalisation, and I don’t agree with how vile and rude she has been to individual fat people in the past. It’s about the way she conveys a message rather than the message itself sometimes that has got her into so much trouble and caused her to receive so much hate. I actually agree that the overwhelming majority of fat people are unmotivated and can’t be arsed to lose the weight, and a hell of a lot are indeed lazy slobs. I’m actually overweight too, and although I’m a thick set bloke with broad shoulders, there’s no mistaking that I’m fat. My superhuman fighting muscular athlete of a brother said that I’m starting to look like Kung-Fu Panda and I laughed so hard! I don’t find that people having a dig at me being a fatty upsets me at all. I could lose weight if I had the will power but I don’t at the moment so I’m fair game for a ribbing. From family and friends though I must add, or a comedian for sure. If it was some random bloke having a vindictive crack as he passed me in the street I’d likely smash him in the teeth or strangle him unconscious. Not because he hurt my feelings about me being fat, but because he was being a nasty c**t. You see, it’s about how the message is conveyed 😂

I’m definitely one of those people who has done a 180, and I’m actually enjoying seeing KH rise up and kick ass, in her now very humorous and witty way. It’s done her wonders!! I did see glimpses when she was in Big Brother, but then the walls would go up and she’d play the “baddie” role again. I’m genuinely horrified at the bullying and vilification and an almost want to destroy her life by our “be kind” society. I had no idea how bad it had been for her, or how far people went to try and destroy her. The people who have accused her of all sorts of atrocities, and who have bullied and vilified her have a lot to answer for. What should have been a bit if a Punch & Judy show, obviously turned into something extremely dark and dangerous. We in the UK shouldn’t be throwing stones from our glass house

I'm glad that you are no longer stuck so much in " what people must think of you", as then how can you really move into what you know to be who you are unless its possible to separate from the view that is always imposed from without. Of course that is always going to be there- never going to change-but its interesting to note that you have been able to change the way you decide to relate to it, i.e. your coping mechanisms do not have to be self-defeating in terms of damaging yourself or the view that others may hold of you, and like-wise, theirs ( ours). Seems like a win/win, much better way to live one's life. Thanks for telling us your side of the story.💝
